George W. P. Hunt was Arizona's first Governor, starting in 1912. He served a record 7 terms as Governor of Arizona - no other governor has done this. Mr. Hunt original had this pyramid shaped tomb built in 1931, when his wife died. On Christmas Eve of 1934, George Hunt died and joined his wife in this tomb. Also buried at the tomb are George Hunts parents, 2 of the Hunts daughters and one son-in-law. This tomb is located on a hilltop in Papago Park, a park shared by Phoenix and Tempe, Arizona.
