Online conspiracy theorists have gone into melt-down after a mysterious object was spotted at a 'top secret' US military base.
Google Maps didn't update its satellite imagery of the area for nearly a decade.
Between 2008 and 2016, the base in southwestern Nevada was shown on satellite images as a series of dry lake beds, but the real pictures were finally released following public outcry.
The test range lies around 70 miles northwest of the infamous Area 51 facility, synonymous with UFOs and conspiracy theories, giving added weight to the latest "spot" to be highlighted by popular UFO YouTube channel SecureTeam10.
The video, uploaded on October 31, shows some kind of object poking out the front of an aircraft hangar, but it's been blurred or censored at source.
"We don't know what it is because they have completely blurred it out," the narrator says during the video.
He also points out other military vehicles parked or stationed around the hangars, but they aren't blurred out.
Only this particular unidentified object is.
"We rarely, rarely see this," the narrator claims, "so whatever this is, it's extremely suspicious that they would go to the trouble [of blurring the object on Photoshop before uploading]."
"And not to mention it's been found in the middle of a range that was also censored in satellite imagery for almost eight years," he continues.
The video goes onto to allege that the wingspan of the object is probably similar to that of the Lockheed Martin RQ-170 Sentinel, said to be a US unmanned aerial vehicle, or drone.
But the wingspan is actually "larger," the narrator claims, "and there have even been images of it [RQ-170] posted online, so I highly doubt they would blur whatever this object is if there are already images of it."
