The article was titled "Emblematic Freemasonry." Somewhat later, in 1925, William Rider & Son published a full-length book by Waite with the same title and subject. This earlier article, then, can be considered the original kernel of that fully developed book. *** This copy, a modern digital printing as mentioned, has been specially bound in a very accomplished leather binding, even using real, hand-made marbled endpapers (nowadays fake copies of marbled endpapers are often substituted for the real thing). *** The binding must have cost a pretty penny, and was presumably meant as a gift or presentation, perhaps to a fellow Bro. Unfortunately, it wasn't proofread and corrected before being printed and bound, and is somewhat riddled with typos. Plummer and Sylvester Clark Gould, a high level Freemason, formed the SRIA or Societas Rosicruciana in America after the form and example of the similarly named SRIA or Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia. Gould served as the Imperator and Supreme Magus until his death in 1909, after which Plummer filled the position until his death in 1944.
