The Last of Us (2013)
This is where it all began. In 2013, the California video game company Naughty Dog released an epic, emotional ride exclusively for Playstation 3. The acclaimed single-player adventure is set a few decades after a global fungal outbreak that turned most of the world into zombie-like creatures known as the infected. Gamers primarily play as hardened survivor named Joel as he transports a teenage girl named Ellie — who is somehow miraculously immune to the fungus’ devastating effects — across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Ellie starts out as “cargo” to Joel, but the pair came to care for each other greatly…which leads to some harrowing moments and heartbreaking decisions.
This version of the game is most difficult to find. It can be purchased used on Amazon, eBay, or other second-hand video game outlets.
I’m not looking forward to season 2 if it’s going to be completely faithful to the second game. It was pretty divise and I for one think its story pales in comparison to its predecessor. I really hope they deviate from it and make the revenge about someone else.
By the way, the Left Behind DLC is also included in the Remastered PS4 version.
What is missing in this article is that the PS4’s The Last of Us Remastered is also playable on PS5 thanks to backwards compatibility. What’s more, if you have a PS5 and have a PS+ subscription you get the game for “free” as part of the PS+ Collection for PS5.
The Last of Us Remastered also includes the Left Behind DLC, which is something to point out, as on the PSN store you can also buy a standalone version of that DLC. It would be a waste of money if you bought both the Remastered game and the DLC.
Don’t have a PS4 or PS5? You can still play the game by getting an upper tier PS+ subscription with which you can stream the game to your PC. That’s not the most ideal way to play, as you need a good internet connection for one, but it is an option.
I think you should put “The last of us Part 1 (2022)” first, because it contains the complete part 1.
And you forgot to mention that you can buy the digital version on the Playstation Store. No need to buy the disc version. It’s easier. Just buy, download, and play.
