Orion in the sky, on the ground, and in Yorkshire!

In the night sky Orion's belt is often clear to see, it stands out due to its unique alignment; two straight in-line stars and one, a smaller star slightly out of line, like a dogs leg. It was often seen up in the night sky by mariners on watch at night and was so named "the dog watch".
Was it accidental that the ancient Egyptians noticed these stars has having some importance as they make a very visual pointer in the dark sky. It has been noticed that the alignment of the pyramids on the ground on the Giza plateau looks to be mimicking the stars of Orion.

This alignment on the ground in Egypt depicts exactly the stars of Orion's belt up in the heavens. The alignment was first pointed out by Robert Bauval in his book "The Orion Mystery". According to Egyptian mythology Orion was the the abode of the gods and the home of Osiris.

What is quite interesting is that a location in Yorkshire exhibits the same strange ground alignment features. Thornborough Henges mirror the exact same features and the same size diameter circles as the base circles drawn around each Egyptian pyramid. That's a bit more than a coincidence.

The Henges in Yorkshire have been dated to be OLDER than the Giza pyramid layout.
Orion depicted on the earth has been noted at other locations.
In the USA the Hopi mesas is shaped as an Orion’s Belt image.
The ruins of Teotihuacán in Mexico point to Orion.

Coming back to the circular alignments in Yorkshire, it indicates that the ancient Britain's must have had knowledge of the stars and mathematical knowledge to generate such a structure, but for what purpose? There has to be another reason, but nobody is investigating such things, in fact a road building company digging for aggregates wanted to dig up the entire Thornborough location, and it was only just stopped!
