Cathedral of the Madeleine is a Catholic church surrounded by the sea of LDS churches in the greater Salt Lake City area. I've gone to a couple other churches recently but it was only just walking and looking around for a couple minutes. I am not a religious person but this time for some reason I wanted to have a more in-depth and involved experience at the church so I came here during their 11am Sunday mass.

Of course like most other churches there is beautiful architecture all around the building. The stained glass and the portraits are very nice to look at. It's cool that they also have Spanish mass at certain times on certain days to be inclusive. The mass experience was pleasant too even for a non-religious person.

Lovely European-style cathedral. The ceilings are particularly beautiful, as well as the stained glass windows. We were limited in what we could see since there was a wedding going on, but it was worth the stop.

Regardless of your religion, background, or whatever else. The cathedral is a site to see. The gothic interior is flawless. There are pamphlets inside explaining the history of the church. Glad o went to see while in SLC.

Beautiful cathedral that's open to the public. It's worth taking a stop and take a moment here if you are in the area.

Gargoyles, pointed arches, vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows, make this stunning Neo-Gothic architecture building a unique piece of art in Salt Lake.

A truly beautiful cathedral to explore and wonder at the beautiful wood and glass and tile work inside. Love the history, that it is open to the public to wander in and experience. Nearby too is a bakery and gelato store and the neighborhood is pretty to drive or walk around. Would like to attend a mass one day but boy is it impressive to examine up close quietly and slowly. This is in my list of places to take visitors.

WOW! What an absolute jewel box of a cathedral!
One thing I have truly missed during the 2020 pandemic is the smell of a church and just sitting in silence on wooden church pews. I was so happy to see this absolute beauty open on a trip to Salt Lake City. Just stunning, check it out. I cannot comment on the church services specifically as I was just there momentarily.

Cathedral of the Madeleine is at the bottom of the Avenues. It is the prettiest Catholic Church I have seen in Utah. I won't say it's the only Catholic Church I've seen in Utah but I definitely haven't seen too many, although there are a few.

Catholic Churches to Mormon wards as they call them are probably greatly outnumbered but you'll feel like you traveled back in time and are in Europe upon entering this beautiful building.

Lots of stained glass and they do candlelight services. They do a lot of the traditional Catholic services if you grew up Catholic you may be used to, midnight mass, other things of the sort.

It is very historic and iconic and I think they do a decent amount of giving to the less fortunate but I don't know the details of it all, just have been glad I got to go inside and see how beautiful it was!

I went for a school assignment (observing medieval architecture) and walked in just as a mass began. I stayed and enjoyed it. The architecture is beautiful although if you experience a mass I would bring a friend to know what to do/say.

Beautiful church and historic landmark. Located in one of the prettiest neighborhoods in Salt Lake, the Avenues.

Nice to see other churches representing in SLC and this one does it so well.

      A very special place.
