In the accompanying drawings--"igures l and 2 are perspective Views of diiierent roar being accidentally swallowed, the tab- .cts being arranged in groups; and
Figs. 3 l fire, .respectivol nwrspective. views snowing sing-do tablets Figs. fund Accidents frequently occur in whioh'siclrmess or loss of life is caused by the taking internally of a poisonous pill or ti blet under supposition that it ii dilferent and hnrmiess tablet, the kind of tablets thus most frequently taken by mistake being those formed of biclilorid of mercury. So far as 1 know, no simple and vs means have 1 22? been devised which mill prevent such soeidrnts. especially .vlicre the tublits are when in tho dork. l hore izii uteri n simple means. and one which bellows to be most effective for the purpose of preventing such st'cidents.
My invention is capable of embodiment in many (liileren't forms and the illustrated enibodiinent is to be regarded as typical only.
and my invention is not to be confined thereto.
Broadly, my in'venlion consists in attachingz to ihc tablet a device to attract physical attention in ease the tablet or pill is put in the mouth or dissolved in 3 glass or" water. l shall will such device 2i label. lo the cmhodinienls illustrated in the drawings, such lfibcl takes the form of a thread or string 2 which, in the present instance, is embedded in the tablets l.
in the form of the invontion shown in Fig. 1, the some thread passes through a of the form shown in V Patented Mar. 24:, 1914;.
Serial No. 798,384.
number of lfiblfits und I have illustrated the {lll'HHlS as consistin of horizontal threads 3 and vertical thread? :2, each tablet having both it horizontal and vertical thread passing through it. Thu tablets are thus formed into :1 group from which it is impossible lu lulic our nilhrut scrcringtlie threads,
'zmd thus even the slecpiest person would have his attention called to the fuel lhut tho tubh-i was one of a poisonous nature, assuming that only poisonous tablets were put up in this form. \Vhen a tublot is separuled from the rest of the box it would, as shown in Fig. 2-5, have the. ends of the threads extending outside of it loosely, and if the tablet were put in the mouth in this form the sense of touch would very quickly reveal the presence of the three: ls. Even if it be conceived that the tublet were entirely dissolved oil the threads, the threads would reveal thc nature of the tablet which had been dissolved and swallowed, and thus cnable immcdiutr relief to be up'plied.
In the form of my invention shown in Fig. 2, the tablets are simply connected by a single thread and the appearance QY-"u dotzu-hed tublot is shown in Fig. 4.
r The threads, being llcxible, would not in the leust interfere with the boxing or bottling of such pills or tablets and their medicinal qualities would not need to be interfered with or impaired in any mimnor, whether the tublcts were bottled or boxed, ronnculul togcther, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, or dcturhcd, as shown in Figs, 3 and 4.
it is evident lhut any invention will result in tho saving of many lives now lost through such accidents us those above mentioned.
lly the terms pill or tablet occurring in the claim; is mount :1 pill or tablet of :1 size Slllllll enough to bc tulo-n into the mouth or swallowed.
