Yet again, another woman has had to defend her appearance from strangers on the internet.

Earlier this week, Brazilian model Adriana Lima was quick to shut down social media users who claimed the star look "unrecognisable" on the red carpet. Her reply? Well, it was certainly model behaviour for dealing with hate.

Appearing at the premiere for The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes, in Los Angeles on Tuesday, the 42-year-old former Victoria Secret icon left fans questioning whether she had undergone any cosmetic procedures during the last month.

One social media user on X wrote, 'I would have had no idea that was the same person,' while others speculated that Lima, 42, could possibly be 'still swollen' from a cosmetic procedure, such as a 'facelift' or 'fillers.'

However, in a bid to reframe the narrative, Lima took to her Instagram account and clapped back on the rumours and commentary.

Captioning an off duty selfie, she wrote 'This is the face of a tired mom of one teenage girl, two pre-teens, one active boy, a 1 year old learning to walk, and three dogs... thanks for your concern.'

Fans were quick to applaud her reply, stating that her 'response to criticisms about her face' are ultimately 'the reality of a mother's life, juggling the responsibilities of raising children and managing a household' inspiring and relatable.

'Her gratitude for the concern adds a touch of grace to her acknowledgment of the challenges she faces,' one X user commented.

More recently, Lima explained that motherhood changed 'everything' in her life as her beauty and self-care regimes have gone 'out the window' at times to focus on her children.

She also added that, 'as my two daughters have gotten older, I've realised that they copy a lot of what I do and my habits, and it's important for me to make sure they're copying good ones.'

Rather than amplifying the noise around how she looks, it should be her sentiments on parenting that gets the air time.
