Shown at the 1935 Paris Auto Salon, this is one of just four Delahaye 135s clothed with a Joseph Figoni design in 1935. Built on an early, 3.2-litre engined chassis, it is also believed to be the last Delahaye fitted with a Figoni body before he partnered with Ovidio Falaschi. When the car was actually launched, the two were in business together and it was fitted with Figoni & Falaschi badges when it was shown at the Paris Salon. The striking two-tone machine was sold to Madame Levy-Wolf through the Delahaye agent in Marseilles. She entered the car in the 1936 Concours d'Elegance at the Bois de Boulogne in Paris where it was duly awarded first price.

After the War, the car resurfaced in England where its new owner decided that the engine and bodywork were better suited to a Bugatti chassis. The car remained in this configuration for over 40 years and spent several years in North America. During the mid-1980s, it was acquired by a Delahaye specialist in the United Kingdom. He decided to fit the engine and bodywork to a 1937-specification chassis. It was in this guise when Sally Perkins bought the car during during the late 1990s. Through meticulous research with the help of Claude Figoni, she discovered that the body and engine belonged to one of the four 1935 cars. A comprehensive restoration followed and included the installation of a correct 1935-specification chassis. The bodywork, Figoni #566, was also repainted in the original two-tone colours.

The work was completed in time for the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance where Delahaye was one of the featured marques. Early in 2022, it was consigned to the Worldwide Auctioneers Scottsdale sale.
