Garry Winogrand, chronicler of American street life, in colour

Famed for his spontaneous images of passers-by in New York, Winogrand mostly shot in black and white. His rare colour pictures are now the subject of a new book

Winogrand pioneered a “snapshot aesthetic” and produced more than 45,000 colour slides in the Fifties and Sixties.
