Here at Teen Vogue, we uphold individuality above all else. That's why, when we got wind of Denim & Supply's refreshing new spring campaign — which aims to promote authenticity and celebrate our uniqueness through personal style — we couldn't wait to give you guys the deets. As a brand that draws their inspiration from warehouse and artist communities in Brooklyn and the omnipresent bohemian styles seen at music festivals, we knew going in that this would be a one-of-a-kind campaign.
And guess what? We were right! The creatively-focused campaign stars a power-house talent we hope you all know by now: the fiercely-stunning Ruby Rose, AKA Stella Carlin from the third season of the hit Netflix series, Orange is the New Black. And to be honest, we couldn't think of a better person that represents this campaign’s DNA. As a multi-hyphenate influencer with a strong sense of self and style, we think it's safe to say that Ruby is beyond perfect for this role.
"I love being able to lose myself in a role, to walk into the unknown," Ruby told Denim & Supply in a recent Q&A. “As for style, it’s just a representation of your feelings in an art form. I’m androgynous and I'm a tomboy, but I also like to experiment with all different kinds of clothing. Stay true to your feelings and the rest will follow,” she added.
Conveniently, that's exactly what Denim & Supply's campaign is all about — self-expression and showing the world who we are through what we wear. As part of the campaign, Denim & Supply launched a mini, four-part cinematic series on their Instagram that features — who else? — Ruby Rose, as well as a few other faces from the campaign (like artist Edward Granger and model Hailey Baldwin) donning pieces from their creative yet down-to-earth collection. The line is a tantalizing mix of edgy and soft pieces, which means there's truly something for everyone here. As for Ruby, she's all about classic staple pieces such as a badass leather jacket, but naturally, she rocks whatever she wears, though.
