Move over, William? Meet Prince Harry’s bestie Nacho Figueras: known as the ‘David Beckham of Polo’, he goes on trips with the royal and they enjoy double dates with Meghan Markle and Delfina Blaquier
Prince Harry may have swapped out royal life in Britain to live the American dream out in Montecito, California, but he’s held onto a few familiar things from his past that long-time fans will still recognise – like his love for polo.
And with polo playing comes polo pals. Argentinian professional polo player Nacho Figueras is one of Harry’s loyal companions to remain by his side through thick and thin. The pair has been spotted together on numerous occasions lately too.
For their most recent outing last week, the besties paid a visit to Tokyo and Singapore, sans wives, for charity-related polo events. Speaking to reporters in Singapore after the game, Figueras shared, “This was a very short trip, although it’s a few days, it’s a lot of travelling for 24 hours in Japan and a few hours here, but we miss them [their wives]. We wish they were here.”
So, what do we know about Harry’s right-hand man – and and their years-long bromance?

Nacho Figueras is the “David Beckham of polo”
Nacho Figueras was born in 1977, in Veinticinco de Mayo, Argentina. Grazia states that he comes from a middle-class family who lived on a small farm. According to Evening Standard, his polo journey began from a young age, thanks to his father’s friend Lucas Monteverde, who was a professional player in the sport.
The same source states that he’s considered the most famous polo player in the world – so much so, that he earned the moniker of being the “David Beckham of polo”.
He’s also done some modelling
Besides polo, Figueras also has a budding career in the fashion industry. Like many top athletes, he’s been sought after by luxury brands over the years. The brand he went for? Polo by Ralph Lauren, of course.
He told Women’s Wear Daily at the time, “First and foremost, I thought it was a great opportunity to promote polo and my team Black Watch. Second, and most important to my wife, was that I would be able to meet Chuck Bass [actor Ed Westwick].”

He has a big, happy family
Like his good pal Harry, Figueras has an ever-growing family. He tied the knot with former model and photographer Delfina Blaquier back in 2004.
The couple have four children together: Hilario, Aurora, Artemio and Alba.
A-list circles
Besides mingling with British royalty, Figueras is also in Hollywood’s A-lister circles. He’s posted pics with American host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres.
Harry’s not the only famous Brit he’s good friends with – Coldplay’s Chris Martin makes regular appearances of the Argentine polo player’s Instagram feed too.

Double dates with Meghan and Harry
Polo wives! It’s no secret that Meghan and Delfina have become close considering their husbands spend so much time together.
In one post from Delfina last year, she shared her admiration for the Duchess of Sussex: “M – looking forward to many more of these times with you and H. Getting to spend time together over these two months was so special. I wish everyone [knew] you the way you are. My sister, my now fellow ‘pwife’ (polo wife) – genius of you to come up with this,” said the caption.
Back in 2019, Nacho told DeGeneres on The Ellen DeGeneres Show: “He [Harry] cares about making the world a better place. Then he found Meghan, who is an incredible girl.”
