Kim Cattrall has confirmed that she will reprise her role as the beloved character Samantha Jones in the second season of 'And Just Like That'.
After her departure following the film 'Sex and the City 2', and her supposed conflicts with her castmates, particularly Sarah Jessica Parker, Cattrall initially turned down an offer to participate in the HBO Max spin-off series.
However, she has now had a change of heart and will make a brief appearance in the latter part of the second season.
According to a report from Variety, Cattrall will once again portray Samantha Jones, reuniting the iconic group of friends from the TV series.
However, it is important to note that the actress and Sarah Jessica Parker have not resolved their previous disagreements.
How much will Samantha Jones appear in 'And Just Like That' season 2?
Reportedly, the sole scene featuring Cattrall was filmed on March 22. Her appearance will take place towards the end of the second season and was shot in New York.
However, Cattrall did not interact with Sarah Jessica Parker or any of her co-stars, aside from executive producer Michael Patrick King.
In her return, Jones, who currently resides in London, will have a phone conversation with Carrie Bradshaw, suggesting a potential reconciliation between the characters after a tentative reconnection in the first season.
At present, Cattrall's return is limited to that specific scene in the second batch of episodes, which will be available on HBO Max.
It remains uncertain whether a full-fledged comeback is planned for a potential third season. Nonetheless, fans of 'Sex and the City' can rejoice in seeing Cattrall on screen once again after her departure in 2016.
