The Dropout star Amanda Seyfried has dropped in for the 2022 Emmy Awards red carpet. That was a horrible pun, but you know what isn't horrible? Seyfried's dress by Armani.

On 12 September, Seyfried arrived at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California, wearing an Armani Privé gown from the brand's Spring Summer 2022 haute couture collection. The strapless dress, complete with multi-dimensional embellished crystals, gave the illusion of mermaid skin. The scalloped tulle accent at the top of the dress added to the cascading, mystical look. Would Elizabeth Holmes, approve of Seyfried's glittery pink dress, considering all she ever did was wear black turtlenecks? Maybe! Maybe not! Who cares! Either way she looks good. I would break out in a dance battle to Lil Wayne's “How To Love” over that.

The Letters to Juliet actor kept her makeup light and a complete 180 compared to her on-screen Holmes portrayal. The bold lip was still there, probably nod to Holmes' signature fiery red lip.

Amanda Seyfried recently received her first Emmy nomination for her portrayal of disgraced Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes in the Hulu mini-series The Dropout. She is up against Margaret Qualley (Maid), Sarah Paulson (Impeachment: American Crime Story), Lily James (Pam & Tommy), Julia Garner (Inventing Anna), and Toni Collette (The Staircase) for best lead actress in a limited or anthology series or movie.

“I’ve been making movies since I was 17, and this was different,” Seyfried told The New York Times after receiving the nomination in July. “I almost want to say, it’s different because it was seen. A lot of times, you do things and they don’t get seen, but it doesn’t take away from the experience of making it. With this, I was getting to explore a character in a way that I haven’t before. It’s a pretty insane true story, and it was pretty well-written. I’m glad it turned out the way it did and that people like it.”

Up next, Seyfried is set to appear in the Apple TV+ drama anthology television series The Crowded Room alongside Tom Holland and her real-life husband, Thomas Sadoski.
