Skins star Kaya Scodelario has announced the arrival of her second child with her husband Benjamin Walker, sharing that she feels "so much love".

The actress confirmed the news that she has welcomed her new baby on Instagram by sharing a photo of herself lying in a hospital bed shortly after giving birth, while a scrubs-clad Benjamin cradles her head.

Her newborn can be seen wrapped in a towel and wearing a patterned hat in Kaya's arms.

"You made it here little one," the star captioned the photo. "Starting the new year with so much love in our hearts and in our home... Plus poop and puke, lots of that too."

Among the famous faces to congratulate Kaya and Benjamin on their new arrival were Mad Men actress January Jones and Game of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel, who wrote: "Awww sweetie! Congratulations to you both!!!"

Kaya also praised her husband in her Instagram Stories, sharing a photo of herself smiling in her hospital bed and writing: "It takes a special kind of person to keep you laughing during labour... I love you @findthewalker".

Kaya, who played Effy Stonem in Skins and has also starred in movies including The Maze Runner series, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Crawl, announced that she was pregnant with her second child in September.

Posting a mirror selfie of herself in which her bump was visible, she jokingly wrote that she had "tried to set up one of those beautiful pregnancy pictures" but had then realised "that I'm way too tired, achey, and lazy right now".

"So, here's me pulling an awkward face in the mirror whilst wearing makeup for the first time in six months instead," she added. "We are very happy obviously. But mostly super tired."

Kaya and Benjamin, who married in 2015, already share a son, who was born in 2016.
