Skins was basically the No.1 defining show of our teen years, with endless hours spent invested in the lives of our favourite chaotic characters.

Ever since the show came off air back in 2013, we've been silently hoping for a Skins reboot, with cast member Kaya Scodelario - who played Effy Stonem in the E4 series - now opening up about just that.

Sitting down with Cosmopolitan UK to chat over her new festive film This is Christmas, Kaya revealed that the Skins cast *do* still hang out (and their Christmas traditions are so sweet), while also sharing her thoughts on a Skins revival.

Asked whether a Skins reboot could be on the cards, Kaya told Cosmopolitan, "I don’t know if anyone wants to see a 30-year-old Skins cast, do they? I don’t know." Err, yes we do!

Going on to explain why Skins *might* not work in 2023, Kaya continued, "I mean, I think it was such an of-its-time thing. It was right before social media, and it was so unique to a certain generation that grew up in the UK. And I think that story would just be really different now, because of social media and because it’s just a different generation. It wouldn’t have the kind of impact and the uniqueness that it had at the time."

All valid points but, hey, we'd still love to see what Effy and the gang are up to now they're all older. As for what an adult Skins cast would look like, Kaya joked, "Probably boring and tired and wanting to go to bed at 8pm, ‘cos that’s what we’re doing!"

Honestly, we'd tune in to watch this lot do just about anything.

Reboot aside, Kaya explained that the Skins cast *do* reunite every year, hosting a sweet 'Friendsmas' dinner. Cute!

Speaking in Cosmopolitan UK's Up Close video, she revealed, "A few of us from Skins, we still meet up every year and have a ‘Friendsmas’ dinner, that we are trying to organise on the group chat today. And yeah, that’s kind of my favourite part of Christmas is when we do that."

She added, "We all get together about a week before Christmas and we cook. It’s the one time a year that we all really try and make an effort to come together."

These guys! Where can we get an invite please?

Opening up about staying in touch with the cast, Kaya went on, "Yeah, most of us. Not everyone, but a few of us are incredibly bonded and [are] friends in a way that I think would be impossible to find with anyone else. We’re all in touch. We’ve all got kids now and our kids all play with each other. Yeah, we’re all very very close still."

Hey, that's some good news for the festive season. We'll still be holding out for that reboot, though.
