The royal family brought out their most regal looks for King Charles’s coronation on Saturday, including Princess Charlotte, who looked as close to perfect as possible in a white dress and matching cape paired with a truly spectacular silver flower crown headpiece that matched the one worn by her mom, Kate Middleton.
Kate wasn’t the only princess Charlotte looked like at the coronation though. In addition to literally twinning with her mom and looking like she could have stepped directly out of an actual Disney princess movie, many royal fans noticed that Charlotte’s whole coronation day vibe channeled another very specific and very famous princess: her late grandmother Princess Diana. Seriously, just look at the major Diana face Charlotte was snapped giving the cameras:
All across Twitter, royal fans and aficionados were quick to point out the resemblance between Charlotte (and especially her coronation day energy) and Diana (and in some cases, Queen Elizabeth II too).
Some fans also took the comparison to another level, showing Coronation Day Charlotte next to pics of Diana when she was a young girl (the resemblance remains uncanny):
This isn’t the first time Charlotte has been compared to her grandmother. Back in the spring of 2022, body-language expert Judi James shared some comparisons between Charlotte and Diana (as well as Queen Elizabeth) when the young royal stepped out for Prince Philip’s memorial service at Westminster Abbey.
“Charlotte, looking touchingly like the Queen when she was small, showed body-language traits that are more like her Granny Diana,” James told the Daily Express. “Like Diana, she gives the initial impression of shyness but beneath that appears to be an outgoing, fun personality. She also picked out several of the cameras with her eyes, as Diana always remembered to do.”
Like grandmother, like granddaughter, clearly.
