Jason Momoa on wearing pink: ‘I don’t really give a s—t what anyone thinks’

Jason Momoa knows real men wear pink.

The “Aquaman” star, 41, is known for his impressive muscles and intricate tattoos, but he also has a penchant for wearing pink on the red carpet and loves to sport scrunchies as an accessory — and doesn’t care what anyone says about it.

“Pink is just a beautiful color,” he told InStyle for the magazine’s December issue. “And I’m pretty secure in my masculinity. I don’t really give a s—t what anyone thinks.”

To accompany the interview, Momoa also posed in a series of outfits by Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabbana and Marrakshi Life in the rosy shade.

The Hawaiian native, who grew up in Iowa, says he’s always been one to go against the grain, which sometimes came at a price. “I got beat up a lot,” he said of his childhood in the Midwest. “Just for being slightly different — it was gnarly. I mean, I wore Birkenstocks in middle school, and it was like, ‘You are a freak!’”

Added Momoa, “We all have the feminine and the male side in us, and we need to embrace both.”

The December issue of InStyle is available on newsstands, on Amazon and for digital download November 20.
