It’s been two years since Canadian indie pop heroes METRIC released Synthetica, their latest studio album. And while we wait for new material from the group charismatic lead singer EMILY HAINES now returns with her first solo material in seven years. And it’s a pretty interesting context. Lightning Strikes was written for the toy company ‘GoldieBlox’ which dedicates its work to the encouragement of the next generation of female engineers. The message remains simple but timeless as the press release states: ‘any ‘failed’ experiment is really just one step closer to that ‘a-ha’ moment.’
