Family Update – And Boom!

Lorch is now a Veteran!

Yesterday was a tediously long grind sessions for me! When the day started Lorch was only level 80. I spent the entirety of it grinding him in Skeleton Dungeon F1.1 and, at 6 PM EST yesterday, he hit Veteran status! Finally I have my ideal team composition all up to Veteran and working towards Expert now.

I decided to Lorch AFK grind up his new Veteran stance (Gigantic Blaster) in roughly the same area (though a little further out so he wouldn’t fight as many skeletons at once). When I woke up this morning, not only was Gigantic Blaster level 25, but Lorch had hit Veteran Lv 2 as well! Pretty awesome way to level up if I do say so myself. On a semi-related note Seria, my Scout, hit Veteran Lv 2 when I was initially grinding Lorch up to Vet. So that’s pretty cool. For anyone wonder, here’s the spot I grinded him at. It’s a very high spawn rate and the best area I could find in the dungeon (even compared to the other two floors; image provided by Wiki of the New World):

Family Update – Fourth Veteran Toon!

So my original three Veteran’s (2 Musketeer’s and Grace Bernelli) were good and all, but I was having some serious issues going to higher-level zones. Therefore I decided to rush my Scout up to Veteran status. She hit it yesterday at around 10:00 AM EST. It’s shockingly odd just how much survival the Scout can add to your team. Now I can head into areas like Bahamar Wetlands without any issues. Sure things still take awhile to kill, but my team is perfectly safe.

My new goal is to get my Lorch Feurholden up to veteran status as well. The reason being is because I need a good, solid team for a variety of situations (Colony wars, PvE, farming, raids, etc) and Lorch provides that. “How?” you might ask. The Gigantic Blaster team buff.

One really neat aspect of Sword 2 is persistent team buffs. There aren’t many of them, but they’re nice. This particular team buff uses Grace, Lorch, and a standard Scout. I currently have Grace at Vet. Lv. 2 and Scout at Vet. Lv. 1, so all I need now is Lorch. Here’s the exact effect of the team buff:

Team Buff Team Composition Effect
Gigantic Blaster Grace Bernelli, Lorch Feurholden, Scout ATK Rating +1, ATK Speed +15%, ACC +30, Critical Rate +16%

As you can see, this buff is awesome. With just this buff and standard shotguns on Grace and Lorch they have max ACC and a decently high Critical Hit rate. The added AR and ATK Speed are also very good. Overall I think this is definitely one of the best team buffs in the game (of the 8 or so currently in it). In just a few days I should be farming like a beast!

Colony Wars – My First!

Being that I only hit Vet recently, I’ve never participated in colony wars until just last night. I must say it was an interesting experience. I’ve never done PvP in Sword 2 before, so needless to say I got stomped pretty hard.

Note – If you don’t know what colony wars are, or even what a colony is, here’s a brief summery: The game is broken up into many different areas. A few of them can be owned by clans. These are called colonies. They give universal buffs to everyone in the clan and the buffs get better for each colony you own. Every Saturday between 10 PM EST and 12 AM EST clans can fight over these territories. That about sums it up.

Here’s a pretty rough outline of how everything went:

10:00 PM EST

CoreClan attack out Topolo Durga colony. Our clan leader decided not to respond (they’re the biggest clan on the server after all).

10:15 PM EST

Another clan issued us a challenge, so we decided to attack their Via Fluvial colony. After about 10 minutes the colony was at 10% HP they came and retaliated. We got it down to around 1% before entirely being wiped. Later we found out the challenge was misdirected. Their leader sent it to the wrong clan. One of our clannies didn’t get the memo and went Rambo on them (lol). He took an all Musketeer’s team, used an invisibility potion, and sniped the colony (which was being protected by 8 families).

10:30 PM EST

CoreClan decided to be mean to us and said we didn’t deserve our Rio Albi colony. So they took that too ='(

11:00 PM EST

Reports that clans were attacking both our Port Bello Desolate Cliff colony and our Pradera de Cenza colony. The force attacking the cliff was extremely small (two families), so I and another clan member were sent to survey it while our leader called upon an alliance with the Amalielle clan to have them defend it. The did so for an hour (thanks guys =D).

11:10 PM EST

CoreClan attacked our newly found “Via Fluvial” colony. Later they gave the colony to ~Galactica~.

12:00 AM EST

The Colony War ended, in total we lost 2 colonies and only have 2 left.

It was a very interesting first experience to say the least. Hopefully next week we’ll go back up to 3 or even 4 colonies!

P.S. Pitsco, our clan leader, is awesome. He gave 15 million Vis to everyone that participated. Thanks Pitsco =D

I’m Back! …. Again!

So, after much considering, I’ve decided to get back into the game. So much has happened that it’s been renamed twice since I left! From Sword of the New World, to Sword 2, and now to Sword 2: Revelations (if I recall correctly). The latter is basically just version 6.7 of Granado Espada with a fancy (or not so fancy?) name.

Based on the last post I made, it’s been pretty much exactly three years so I actively played the game. I always had it installed, and got on from time to time to level up, but that’s it. When I logged in about two weeks ago I had two level 74 Musketeer’s and a level 75 Bernelli. In none of my blog posts did I mention my switch to an all musketeer team, so that’s a bit of an update.

Character’s

Starting two weeks ago I started grinding hardcore on my muskeeter’s and, just three days ago, got my first group of Veteran’s! Yay! But boy once I hit vet the game got a lot slower. I’m currently grinding them out in Topolo Durga so I can have their stances up to 16 come tomorrow for a clan war (more on this later).

Things are going a bit slow on the EXP side of things, but my skills are ranking up fast. An interesting thing I want to note is what happened when I first logged in. For some reason every one of my skills on all of my previously made toons has been maxed. No idea why. Check it out:

I seriously doubt anyone in their right mind would level up everyone’s Bareknuckles to 25 unless they actually used them (like Baek Ho). Let alone Aiming Shot (hahahahahahaha). Was pretty odd, but I’m not complaining. It saved me a lot of grinding, especially on my 3 Wizards since their levitate skills are all maxed now.

I also decided to go and grab Lorch. I hear that Bernelli + Lorch + Scout is a pretty nice farming group, so I plan to level him up soon.

Clan

So my previous clan (you know, the one in the T-Rex picture?) pretty much no longer exists. I left it about a year ago when I got my musketeer’s up to 74. I’m now with the Soniere Clan of Opresia. If you’re on Opresia, do me a favor and look at the world map. Of the 23 colonies that can be owned, we own four of them. I lucked into an awesome clan! But this brings me back to the clan war. Having 4 colonies means we have to pretty much be extremely active to keep them, hence why I need to get my vet stances up to 16. I’ll be pretty useless otherwise. Joining such an awesome clan is probably the big reason why I want to try and stick with the game this time around. I doubt I’ll get an opportunity like this again.

Thoughts on Sword 2 since I left

I’ll keep this brief. The game has changed quite a lot since I last actively played. EXP rate is much higher now and it’s way more rewarding to actively level up now. That’s always good because before you could AFK level and basically be on par with someone who active leveled. Made no sense. The game also features a lot more content, for both low levels and high levels. Things like Bounty Hunts weren’t in when I last played. Overall the game has grown positively.

About this blog

I plan to keep this blog somewhat active. However, I want to draw attention to this site:

 http://kenmartravels.blogspot.com/

Read the title of the blog. Look when the first post ever made and then the first post of this blog (more specifically, their time). Seriously dude? You see a dead blog and think it’s right to steal its name for yourself? Sure, you’ve been active, but you only play Sword 2, I made this blog when I was actually beta testing Granado Espada (the Korean version), so the title made sense at the time. Blatantly copying my title… Not cool man, not cool.

Well that about wraps things up, I’ll try and keep you all updated on my toons. If anyone wants to play, hit me up on Opresia. My family name is Corifous.
