The Salar de Uyuni needs no introduction. This largest salt flats in the world is the most recognizable and most visited attraction in Bolivia. According to estimates, there is 10 billion tons of salt in the Salar de Uyuni area! It is also the largest lithium concentration in the world. Of course, tourists come here not for the elements, but for the views.

Huge, white space, covered with a layer of water during the rainy season, is an inexhaustible source of photographic inspiration. In addition, you can meet there majestically crawling flamingos , as well as admire amazing rock formations and interesting vegetation, mainly succulents. The biggest attractions include Laguna Colorada , a train graveyard or… a monument with the inscription Dakar.

For whom?

If you collect places from the top of the top lists, then Salar de Uyuni is a must-see. The truth is that this Bolivian attraction is a must-see, at least once in a lifetime. Of course, this type of salt pans can also be admired on other continents, but they are much smaller and do not make such a huge impression as the Salar de Uyuni.

Casa de Sal - Salt Hotel

This hotel is located in the center of Uyuni and is simply the perfect base from which to explore the Salar de Uyuni. Basically, I liked everything there. From the location, through service, to comfort. Interestingly, practically the entire hotel is built of salt blocks. The atmosphere is a bit like Wieliczka.
Hotel de Sal Cristal Samaña

Hotel de Sal Cristal Samaña

We highly recommend this hotel! Not only is it built of salt, but it is also modernly furnished. The interiors are very stylish. In addition, beautiful furniture and accessories in the form of bas-reliefs on the walls. In fact, it is very expensive. But at least breakfast is included in the price.
Hotel Jardines de Uyuni
Excellent

Hotel Jardines de Uyuni

I really liked the Jardines hotel. Decorated in a slightly colonial style. Very nice service. A great option is a public bar with coffee and tea (free of charge). Tasty and filling breakfasts. My room was small, but sufficient for one person. The service could be a bit nicer. Maybe I was having a bad day, but they looked like they were working as punishment.
Hotel de Sal Luna Salada

Hotel de Sal Luna Salada

My wife and I chose this hotel and we did not regret it for a moment. A beautiful location that allows you to enjoy the view of the Salar de Uyuni. Of course built from salt blocks, it boasts some of the nicest interiors we've ever seen in Bolivia. It is exclusive and cozy at the same time. Excellent on-site restaurant.
