Description

GEGENSTAND DER ERFINDUNGSCOPE OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to a ride, in particular a roller coaster, comprising a route, and at least one movable along the route vehicle.

STAND DER TECHNIKSTATE OF THE ART

Rollercoasters with various driving figures are known. Conventional roller coasters include a route defined by a rail system. The vehicles are usually arranged, for example as trains, moved on the rails along the route. In order to maintain or increase the incentive of a rollercoaster to the public, new driving figures are constantly being created and integrated.

However, as there are limits to this approach, roller coasters with specific themes are being developed to an ever greater extent, for example based on films. The roller coaster is integrated into a kind of backdrop, possibly with special effects. In this way, the roller coaster gets a typical, characteristic appearance.

In order to convey visual effects to increase the driving experience, the vehicles are also equipped with monitors. For example, monitors may be provided which can be folded down in front of each passenger and which, while in motion, display a movie matching the accelerations and forces caused by the roller coaster ride. This can, for example, be used to give the impression that the trip is taking place on a distant planet.

The disadvantage of such a device is that essential impressions of the roller coaster ride are lost, such as the virtually never presentable, real height impression.

The publication WO 98/31444 shows a system in the context of a roller coaster, which can be equipped with both a display and a headset with glasses. On the display or the glasses a virtual reality is played.

In the publication JP 2004 101197 is described a head-portable display device with half mirrors for a navigation device. The eye sees the reality, which is complemented by the indication of the direction of travel.

The publication US 5,716,281 shows a game apparatus in which a recorded image is merged with the background.

The document JP 6-83095 discloses an amusement ride, in which a disc is provided inside a vehicle, which is designed as a half mirror.

The font WO 95/27543 shows an amusement ride where scenarios can be played on a screen.

AUFGABE DER ERFINDUNGOBJECT OF THE INVENTION

Based on this, the object of the present invention is to provide a roller coaster that provides a more attractive driving experience.

This object is achieved by providing a ride according to claim 1. Specific embodiments of the invention will become apparent from the features of the dependent claims.

An inventive ride, especially a roller coaster, includes a route, and at least one movable along the route vehicle. The vehicle has an element on which a recorded image is displayed. For this, the ride has at least one recording device for receiving the vehicle from perceptible optical Raalität. The vehicle has at least one means for generating visual impressions which change the perception of reality, the apparatus being so arranged that on the element an overall picture comprising the recorded image and the additional impressions generated by the device.

Preferably, the visual impression generating means is adapted to enhance the perception of reality, i. The device creates visual impressions that expand the (visual) perception of reality. The so-called Augmented Reality (AR) is a computer-aided extension of the perception of reality. By means of the device, visual additional impressions (pictures, films, information, representations) are recorded, but the view of reality is retained. For example, during a rollercoaster ride, rockfall or oncoming arrows can be recorded at certain points.

In particular, the device can be designed for the visual removal or cancellation of optically perceptible impressions. This reduces the perception of reality. By using this so-called Diminished Reality (DR) certain real objects from the passenger's perception are hidden. This could, for example, suddenly disappear while driving the rails in front of the car or just a run tower collapse. The parts of the real environment removed by the DR are preferably replaced or supplemented by meaningful overlays.

The device can be designed both for generating visual impressions for expanding the perception of reality, as well as for the visual removal or deletion of visually perceptible impressions. This means that augmented reality and diminished reality can be combined. Thus, the visually perceived reality can be changed.

Beim Einsatz eines transparenten Elements spricht man von Optical See Through (OST).According to the invention, additional optical effects are added that complement the image (AR). In the DR, additional visual effects can be added that complement a part of the visually perceptible reality in such a way that individual image sections are changed or made invisible. The device can therefore have means for mirroring or introducing optical effects in addition to the reality perceived by the transparent element. The use of a transparent element is called Optical See Through (OST).

In diesem Fall spricht man von Video See Through (VST).The screen or the glasses can not be transparent. In this case, the image of the optical reality in the current field of view is recorded, for example, by a camera, the AR effects are recorded by computer and the entire image is displayed on the element, e.g. a monitor, recorded. Accordingly, the device can have at least one element on which the image of the optical reality perceivable by the vehicle can be imaged by a recording device. In this case we talk about Video See Through (VST).

Preferably, the device may comprise at least one projection device for the projection of optically perceptible impressions on the element. With the help of the projection device additional images can be projected onto the element.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the element is designed as a screen, which is arranged in front of the passenger. The screen can be transparent or, for example, designed as a monitor.

In particular, the element can be arranged movably on the vehicle. It can thus be brought in and out of the field of vision of the passenger in any way. Thus, a disc can be provided, which can be folded down.

In particular, the element may be designed as glasses, which touches the passenger before driving. This can be formed with non-transparent covers (VST).

The element may be designed as glasses, through which a passenger perceives an augmented reality and / or a reduced reality.

In particular, the device can be designed in such a way that an image of the optical reality taken by a recording device, in particular as a function of the position and / or orientation of the spectacles, is imaged on the inside of the spectacles.

In particular, the ride includes at least one sensor for determining the position of the vehicle along the route. The recorded image or the recorded optical effects (AR and / or DR) can be recorded in dependence on the position of the vehicle along the route. Thus, the recording of the effects can be controlled. It can be provided sensors that are located at the appropriate points in the route. They report when the vehicle drives by. As a result, it can be ensured that corresponding images are projected depending on the position of the vehicle in the course of the route.

The ride may have means for generating acoustic effects. By adding in additional acoustic effects (for example a roaming dragon roars), the hallucination will be enhanced or underscored.

Overall, the invention can be added without loss of the possible types of experience of a roller coaster even more the overall experience enhancing impressions. This combines the benefits of simulators and roller coasters, bringing them together in a new, unique experience.

All of the features described are intended to be readily combined within the scope of this invention with all other features described.
