Description

9.The invention relates to a socket and a junction box for producing a high performance data line connection with such a socket according to claim 1 or 9.

For producing a data line connection of a Server to a terminal (channel) or between the corresponding junction boxes (link) with high data transmission capacity need all the components of Channels or links, especially data cables and Junction boxes, certain minimum requirements regarding fulfill their transmission properties. The components become different according to their transmission properties Categories, of which currently the Categories 5, 5e and 6 are of particular interest. It is planned, the specifications for components of the to normalize the categories concerned. After such a Standardization proposal must have Category 5, 5e cables and 6 cables at 100 MHz near end crosstalk (Near End Cross Talk or NEXT) with 32.3, 35.3 and 44.3 dB respectively suppress. For junction boxes of categories 5, 5e and 6 apply to NEXT losses at 100 MHz values of 40, 43 or 54 dB. The requirements of classes 5, 5e and 6 can currently be met relatively well for cables for junction boxes, in particular category 6 However, there is no satisfactory solution.

Junction boxes usually comprise at least one Socket, e.g. an RJ45 socket, with a receiving element for the connector of a data cable and a plurality of hook-shaped, elongated contact elements, the over a majority of the length of the receiving element extend and in the case of use with the individual Lines of the data cable or the corresponding Contact elements on the connector in contact. The socket is mounted on a base board, the line connections to a terminal block for another, in usually contains stationary data cable. One end each the hook-shaped contact elements of the socket is made of the Receiving element led out and directly with the Base circuit board or a line connection on it soldered. In known constructions are the electrically conductive components without shielding in immediate spatial proximity to each other and interfere each other. RJ45 jacks have 8 juxtaposed Contact elements for the 4 pairs of wires corresponding data cable. Each is a pair of wires assigned to the contact elements 1/2, 4/5 and 7/8, a another line pair is attributable to the contact elements. 3 and 6. Due to this spatial arrangement are the Disturbances between the pair 3/6 and 4/5 particularly large.

It is known for mitigation, the base board equipped with a compensation circuit, the individual lines or pairs of lines are decoupled from each other, e.g. capacitive. Junction boxes with such Compensation circuit usually meet the requirements category 5 or 5e. To jump into the Category 6, however, is an improvement of 11 dB at 100 MHz required with the described design so far was not realized.

A socket with a receiving element and a therein integrated circuit board is from US 6,190,211 known. On the circuit board is a Compensation circuit for reducing interference.

A junction box according to the preamble of Claim 1 is known from DE-U-20103505.

The invention is therefore based on the object, a Socket and a junction box with improved transmission properties indicated. The socket should preferably have the geometry of already used sockets, especially in accordance with RJ45, with standard plug connectors to be compatible.

The problem is solved by a junction box with the Features of claim 1. Advantageous developments The invention will become apparent from the dependent Claims, the description and the drawings.

The invention is based on the surprising finding that also structures below 1/10 of the wavelength the signals in question have an influence on the mutual Have disorders. The relocation of Compensation circuit from the base board in immediate spatial proximity of the contact elements of the socket leads to a significantly improved compensation especially the NEXT values. This effect is amplified by a shortening of the length of the contact elements or the signal paths from the contact elements of the plug up to the compensation circuit or to the terminals of a another cable. The signals already leave the socket compensated and do not need to on the base board or less expensive to be corrected.

According to the invention, the contact elements to a socket a compensation printed circuit board attached, the one Compensation circuit for the reduction of disturbing influences, especially crosstalk, between Contains lines and the inside of the receiving element is arranged for the plug. The contact elements of Socket can be made very short, since it only from the contact elements of the plug to Kompensationsleiterplatte rich and not as in the prior art led out of the socket or the receiving element Need to become. The strength of mutual interference between the signal paths, especially the mutual Crosstalk is reduced. Finally, the Compensation circuit on the compensation PCB be simplified, e.g. through use of Capacitors with lower capacities.

The compensation PCB can be used in any sockets be integrated, the receiving element in particular Plug is adapted with a known form. In order to will have compatibility issues when switching to Category 6 components avoided. Preferably Receptacles or jacks used that the RJ45 shape correspond. The compensation PCB extends for example, over the bottom surface of the receiving element or forms the bottom surface. It can be removable. Preferably, mounting elements for attachment to the Base PCB available, allow more preferably they attach to different positions relative to this.

A 0928052.The junction box includes at least one Socket a base circuit board and a Terminal strip. There may be more items available be, e.g. to form a preferably shielded Housing. The housing can be designed in a known manner be, e.g. according to EP-A 0928052.

Shown are the top and bottom of the Compensation board 2 with the respective electronic Components, here line elements 15 and Capacitors 16. In each case one is located Decoupling capacitor 16 between the line elements, which are assigned to the pin pairs 1/3, 3/5, 4/6 and 6/8. Typical values for these capacities are, for example for the pairs 1/3 and 6/8 at 0.81 pF and for the couples 3/5 and 4/6 at 0.92 pF (each at 250 MHz). At so far known compensation circuits on the base board will be significantly higher capacity and / or more complicated Circuits used, e.g. a decoupling circuit with the following capacities between the indicated Pin pairs: pair 6/4: 2.1 pF; Pair 5/3: 2.14 pF; Pair 6/8: 1.84 pF; Pair 3/8: 1.4 pF; Pair 1/3: 0.58 pF.

The compensation PCB 2 is in its dimensions adapted to the size of the socket, in this case it is approx. 17 mm long and 12 mm wide.
