Definitions
- the invention relates to a cartridge feed device of a machine gun with at least one star wheel, which can be rotated step by step for the purpose of transporting a cartridge around an axis of rotation, on a hollow shaft, in which a helical spring is arranged coaxially, one end of which is connected to the hollow shaft by means of a driving sleeve and the other end of which by means of a further driving sleeve having gas pressure -Drive member is rotatably connected about the axis of rotation.
- Such a device is described in DE-PS 33 42 222.
- the drive member is driven by the gas pressure of the weapon.
- the helical spring is thereby rotated about the axis of rotation. It takes the star wheel with it via the hollow shaft.
- the helical spring ensures that the sudden gas pressure does not lead to an excessively jerky rotation of the star wheel. Its movement is dampened by the coil spring.
- a device of the type mentioned is also in DE-PS 37 03 437 described. Means for setting and adjusting the torsional preload of the helical spring are also not provided here. This has an unfavorable effect on the cartridge transport.
- the object of the invention is to propose a cartridge feeder of the type mentioned in the introduction, in which the rotational preload of the coil spring is adjustable and adjustable.
- the above object is achieved in a cartridge feeding device of the type mentioned in the introduction in that a coupling bush is arranged between the driving sleeve and the hollow shaft or the drive member, that in the decoupling position of the coupling bush, the rotational angle position of the driving sleeve relative to the other driving sleeve is adjustable with respect to the axis of rotation and that the coupling sleeve in the coupling position holds the driving sleeve relative to the hollow shaft or the drive member in the set rotational angle position.
- the torsional preload of the coil spring can be adjusted, readjusted and adjusted at any time. This is done in that the coupling bush is brought into its uncoupling position and then the driver sleeves are rotated against each other. In this angular position, the coupling bush is then brought back into its coupling position, whereby the pre-tensioning of the helical spring is fixed. Correct setting of the pre-tension of the coil spring ensures that the cartridges or the cartridge belt can be transported safely using the star wheels.
- the coil spring does not abut the inside of the hollow shaft and the turns of the coil spring do not touch, so that between the Coil spring and the hollow shaft, as well as the windings of the coil spring, no frictional forces occur which hinder the transport of the cartridges. It is therefore possible to achieve comparatively high pressure forces for the cartridge transport with comparatively small forces of the gas pressure pressure element, the prestressing of the helical spring being able to be adjusted if necessary.
- the driving sleeve can be adjusted in fine steps with respect to the hollow shaft in the rotational angle position by means of the coupling bush. It is thereby achieved that the relative angle of rotation position between the drive sleeve driven by the drive member and the end of the helical spring fixedly connected to this drive sleeve does not have to be changed and between the hollow shaft and the drive sleeve driving this there is not only a non-positive connection, but this drive sleeve relative to the Hollow shaft is adjustable in comparatively fine-tuned angular positions.
- the coupling bushing has a toothed ring on the outside, which engages in an internal toothing of the hollow shaft, and the coupling bushing is provided on the inside with a toothed ring which engages in an external toothing of the driving sleeve.
- the one ring gear of the coupling bush is axially longer than the other, so that in the decoupling position of the coupling bush the longer ring gear engages with the toothing assigned to it, whereas the shorter ring gear is disengaged from the toothing assigned to it. This makes it easier to move the coupling bush into the coupling position.
- a cartridge feed device of a machine gun has a gas pressure drive piston, not shown in detail. This is connected by the drive shaft (1) to a first driver sleeve (2) so that the driver sleeve (2) rotates by one step about the axis of rotation (D) when the drive piston is pressurized with gas from the weapon barrel (not shown).
- the driver sleeve (2) is rotatably mounted in the housing part (3) about the axis (D).
- One end (4) of a helical spring (5) is held on it in a rotationally fixed manner.
- the other end (6) of the helical spring (5) is arranged in a second driving sleeve (7) in a rotationally fixed manner.
- the two Ends (4,6) of the helical spring (5) are axially displaceable in the driver sleeves (2,7), so that torsional preloads of the helical spring (5) do not lead to axial tensioning of the driver sleeves (2,7) and the windings of the helical spring (5) do not touch each other.
- the driving sleeve (7) has an external toothing (8) into which an inner ring gear (9) of a coupling bush (10) engages.
- the coupling bush (10) is provided on the outside with an outer ring gear (11) which engages in an internal toothing (12) of a hollow shaft (13).
- star wheels (14) for the transport of cartridges or a cartridge belt, not shown, are rotatably mounted, the torsional strength between the hollow shaft (13) and the star wheels (14) being achieved via a coupling device (15).
- the hollow shaft (13) is rotatable on the driving sleeve (2) with its end (16) opposite its internal toothing (12) and is also rotatably mounted in the housing part (3).
- a latching tongue (17) is arranged on the housing part (3) (cf. FIG. 2) and is associated with latching lugs (18) of the first driving sleeve (2).
- Five locking lugs (18) are provided on the circumference of the driving sleeve (2).
- the locking lugs (18) are thus offset from each other by 72 °.
- the same locking lugs (19) are formed at the end (16) of the hollow shaft (13). These are also gripped by the latching tongue (17).
- the teeth of the inner ring gear (9) of the coupling sleeve (10) are longer in the axial length of the axis of rotation (D) than the teeth of the outer ring gear (11) of the coupling sleeve (10). Accordingly, the coupling bush (10) has a guide surface (20) (see FIG. 3). However, it is also possible to make the teeth of the inner ring gear (9) shorter in the axial direction of the axis of rotation (D) than the teeth of the ring gear (11). In this case, the guide surface on the inner circumference of the coupling bush (10) results.
- the pitch of the sprockets (9, 11) can be the same.
- the ring gear with the shorter teeth which can be disengaged in the manner described in more detail below, have a narrower pitch than the non-disengageable ring gear.
- the locking tongue (17) holds the driving sleeve (2) and the hollow shaft (13) blocked by the locking lugs (18, 19).
- the entraining sleeve (2) When the shot is fired, the entraining sleeve (2) is suddenly rotated about the axis of rotation (D) by the associated gas pressure. It rotates the helical spring (5), so that the driving sleeve (7) follows the rotary movement damped by the helical spring (5).
- the helical spring (5) does not lie on the inside of the hollow shaft (13) and the windings of the helical spring (5) do not touch it, so that the force transmission between the driving sleeve (2) and the driving sleeve (7) is not influenced by uncertainly varying frictional forces .
- the hollow shaft (13) Due to the movement of the driving sleeve (7), which is damped by the helical spring (5) relative to the driving sleeve (2), the hollow shaft (13) is taken along without slipping. Because it is positively connected via its internal toothing (12) to the outer ring gear (11) of the coupling bush (10) and its inner ring gear (9) to the outer toothing (8) of the driving sleeve (7). Accordingly, the star wheels (14) switch further via the coupling device (15), as a result of which the cartridges or their belt (not shown in detail) are transported one step further. After this step, the end (16) of the hollow shaft (13) latches with its next latching lug (19) on the latching tongue (17).
- the pretensioning of the helical spring (5) can be easily adjusted.
- a cover plate (21) of the housing part (3) is loosened and with it the structural unit, in particular consisting of the driving sleeve (2), the hollow shaft (13), the driving sleeve (7), the helical spring (5) and the coupling bush ( 10) - according to Figure 1 to the left - pulled out of the housing part (3).
- the star wheels (14) are not taken along.
- the coupling bush (10) is moved in the axial direction, so that its outer ring gear (11) detaches from the internal toothing (12) of the hollow shaft (13).
- the driver sleeve (7) is then turned on an internal hexagon (22) relative to the driver sleeve (2) in such a way that the helical spring (5) has the desired pretension.
- the coupling bush (10) is then re-engaged so that it ensures the rotationally fixed connection between the driving sleeve (7) and the hollow shaft (13). In this then adjusted position, the assembly is pushed back into the housing part (3), after which the coupling with the star wheels (14) takes place.
Abstract
