Description

The invention relates to a device for supplying projectile ammunition in an armored vehicle, which has a rotatable turret with a shield cheek rising thereon as a bearing for a weapon carrier, which carries its cartridge magazine designed as a container sideways, with a horizontally running container inside the vehicle.

lane is provided, within which a container reloading station is located, which is arranged under an opening of the tank ceiling so that it is aligned with the container port on the weapon carrier at a rotational position of the turret at an index position and at an elevation angle, the spacing of which by means of transport is bridged.

A device of this type is known (DE- 0 8 30 22 410), in which the empty container can be brought down through the opening into the container reloading station after it has been unlocked with the aid of the transport means, and the container can then be moved onto the container transfer path by means of a moving and filling the space of the empty-filled container, filled replacement container can be moved out of the container reloading station.

Although the containers used are those that are refillable and therefore reusable, in battle it can prove to be too lengthy and cumbersome to bring the empty containers back into the container reloading station and thus into the transfer lane. Furthermore, changing the ammunition, for example from powerful AP ammunition to highly explosive HE ammunition, would also be too cumbersome, since this would always require a container change.

The object on which the invention is based is therefore seen in creating a device of the type mentioned at the outset which enables a particularly rapid change of container, which makes double the number of cartridges available on the weapon carrier and thus on the breech of the weapon, and which ultimately switches between two to be fired Cartridge types allowed without having to change containers.

This object is achieved in that within the container transfer path two container reloading stations are located below openings in the tank ceiling, which are aligned with two container connections located on both sides of the weapon carrier, and that two containers are releasably locked on both sides of the weapon carrier and dispose disposable.

Since two containers with possibly different types of cartridges are available on the weapon, a simple switching operation on the cartridge feed selectively shoot ammunition from one or the other container without a magazine change being necessary, which is particularly advantageous when the type of ammunition has to be changed. Of course, the two containers can also contain similar ammunition. In any case, according to the invention, double the number of shots is available on the weapon itself.

Of particular advantage is the fact that the containers can be ejected according to the invention, which makes it unnecessary to return them to the reloading station without the latter no longer being possible. Dispensing with the return of the empty shot containers to the reloading station, however, enables a particularly fast container change, since in this case the empty shot containers are simply ejected sideways after being unlocked by the weapon, for example by spring pressure, and make room for those to be brought in from the reloading station by the means of transport , filled container. It goes without saying that such one-way traffic from the reloading station to the weapon carrier enables filled containers to be brought up more quickly.

According to a preferred embodiment, the shield cheek is double and holds the weapon carrier between itself, the two containers being lockable on the weapon carrier in the region of the horizontal axis of elevation and the two halves of the shield cheek each having closable openings on their undersides for the introduction and, if necessary, return of the containers and in each case on their outsides have closable openings for the ejection of the emptied containers. This configuration enables the container to remain in the area of the weapon carrier protected by the double shield cheek even at different elevation positions of the weapon.

The closable openings expediently have flaps that open outwards and, in the open position, do not take up any space within the shield cheek.

Furthermore, it has proven to be advantageous to arrange the horizontally running container displacement track in the area above a chain or wheel house and essentially parallel to the same.

It is understood that the two openings provided above the sliding track in the armored roof must be arranged at a distance from one another which corresponds to the distance between the means of transport leading to the weapon carrier or to the shield cheek from one another. The tower thus only needs to be brought into the rotational position in which the container connections arranged on the weapon carrier are aligned with the openings, which is the case with simultaneous zero elevation so that filled containers can be reloaded from the transfer track.

The invention and its advantageous embodiments are explained in more detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing.

It shows:
  • F ig. 1 shows a section of a front view of a chain-driven armored vehicle, partly in section and in FIG Transverse position of the tower, equipped with a device according to the invention;
  • FIG. 2 shows a plan view of the device according to FIG. 1, also as a partial view;
  • Fig. 3 is a side view of the device of FIGS. 1 and 2, each seen in the arrow direction A.

In the embodiment shown, the device according to the invention for supplying projectile ammunition is located on an armored vehicle 1 with an armored turret 3 rotatable about a vertical axis 2 with a shield cheek 4 rising thereon. For the sake of clarity, only parts of the armored ceiling 5, a lateral one, are shown Armor 6 and a chain 7 shown.

The shield cheek 4 serves as a bearing for a weapon carrier 8, which holds a weapon 9 that is only visible with its barrel 10. As shown in FIG. 1, the weapon carrier 8 carries its cartridge magazine designed as a container 11 sideways. Within the armored vehicle 1, a horizontally extending container transfer path 12 is provided, within which there is a container reloading station 13, which is arranged under an opening 14 of the armored cover 5 so that it is at an index position and at an elevation angle when the armored turret 3 is in a rotational position the weapon 9 is in an index position with the container connector 15 located on the weapon carrier. The distance between the container reloading station 13 and the container connection 15 is bridged by means of transport 16, for example by an elevator.

According to the invention, two container reloading stations 13, 13 t are now located within the container transfer path 12 below Openings 14, 14 'in the tank top 5, which are aligned with two container connections 15, 15' located on both sides of the weapon carrier 8, two containers 11, 11 'on both sides of the weapon carrier 8 also being releasably locked and disposable.

In the embodiment shown, the shield cheek 4 is of double construction and thus has two shield cheek halves 4 'and 4 "which hold the weapon carrier 8 between them. The two containers 11, 11' can be locked on the weapon carrier 8 in the region of the horizontal elevation axis 17. The two shield cheek halves 4 ', 4 "each have closable openings 18, 18' on their undersides for introducing and possibly returning containers 11, 11 'and closable openings 19, 19' on their outer sides for ejecting empty containers 11, 11 '. on. The emptied, ejected containers 11, 11 'are indicated in FIGS. 2 and 3 with dashed lines. The closable openings 19, 19 'have flaps 20, 20' opening outwards.

In the preferred embodiment shown, the horizontally extending container displacement track 12 is arranged in the area above a chain house 21 and essentially parallel to the same. It is understood that two openings 14, 14 'are provided in the tank ceiling 5 above the sliding track 12. These openings 14, 14 'are aligned in the respective index positions with the container connections 15, 15', provided that the armored turret 3 and the elevation angle or elevation of the weapon 9 are in the respective index positions. In the embodiment shown, the index position relating to the rotation angle of the armored turret 3 is a position transverse to the longitudinal axis of the armored vehicle 1 or to the direction of travel of the armored vehicle 1 according to arrow F (FIGS. 2 and 3), and the elevation angle or elevation the Weapon 9 index position about the horizontal zero elevation of weapon 9 and weapon carrier 8. It goes without saying that for reloading the closures of the openings 14, 14 'and 18, 18' must be opened, for example two flaps 22 folded up and two Flaps 23 must be folded down, of which only the front flap is indicated in Fig. 1. There are various possibilities for the design of the elevator 16, which are known and are not the subject of the present invention.

It should be pointed out that above each of the two chain houses, a container sliding track 12 with two openings 14, 14 'provided above it in the tank ceiling 5 can be arranged such that the double amount of ammunition can be carried. In this case, for the purpose of changing containers, the index position of the rotational position of the armored turret 3 can be selected such that it can be arranged transversely to the armored vehicle 1 either on one side or on the other side. There are thus two index positions pivoted by 180 ° relative to one another, in which the container connections 15, 15 'are aligned with the reloading stations 13, 13' of the container transfer path either above one or the other chain house 21.

The respective container reloading stations 13, 13 'can each be provided for different types of ammunition, such that, for example, only AP ammunition (anti-person ammunition) is reloaded from the container reloading station 13, but only HE from the container reloading station 13' - Ammunition (high explosive ammunition).

The flaps 20, 20 'opening outwards on the two shield cheek halves 4', 4 '' are preferably circular in shape and are large enough in diameter that the container 11, 11 'can be ejected in any possible elevation position of the barrel 10 of the weapon 9 is.
