Abstract

A refractor is to be created, e.g. for objectives (lenses) or spectacles, whose refractive behaviour can be controlled in an electrically inertia-free manner. The refractor is formed by a transparent, piezopolymeric plastic body (1) whose dimensions (D) can be changed by a voltage (U1) which is applied. The invention can be used in particular for a zoom lens (variable-focus lens), a telescope, or spectacles. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention is based on a refractor according to the Oberbe handle of claim 1.

Such refractors with variable refractive behavior are especially needed for the realization of Photoobjek tives with variable focal length, for telescopes with variable derable viewing distance, for prisms, for prescription glasses with changeover to near and far vision and the like. A night is part of the known optical systems of this type in that mechanically driven elements to change the geometric distance of individual lenses are required.

The invention has for its object a refractor with electrically inertia-controlled refractive behavior to accomplish.

This task is by the He described in claim 1 finding solved. Advantageous developments of the invention are described in the subclaims.

A refractor is created by the solution according to the invention fen, whose refractive behavior without mechanical movement of Lenses can be changed electronically without inertia. Thereby can create ZOOM lenses, telescopes and prescription glasses only by changing an invested tax voltage on different focal lengths and viewing distance stands are switchable. Preferably, eye glasses be created, the diopter number through the control chip automatically depending on the respective inclination of the head is changed. This means that for close vision, Middle range and distant view through the optimal diopter number the control voltage can be set. The in the invention used piozopolymeric substance e.g. Polyvinylidene fluoride  has so far been used as a film for realizing loudspeakers or microphones used. The invention thus a completely new concept for piezopolymeric plastics application area developed.

Darin zeigenThe invention is based on the drawing on several Ausfüh Examples explained. Show in it

Fig. 1 zeigt eine piezopolymere Folie 1 mit zwei aufgebrach ten, galvanisch voneinander getrennten leitenden Folien 2, 3.
D=f (U 1) und A=f (U 1).
Fig. 1 shows a piezoelectric polymer film 1 with two patch broke th, electrically isolated conductive films 2, 3. A control voltage U 1 is applied to the foils 2 , 3 . The thickness D of the film 1 can be changed by changing the control voltage U 1 . As a result, the offset A of an incident light beam 4 can be changed according to the law of refraction. So it is achieved:
D = f ( U 1 ) and A = f ( U 1 ).

The arrangement according to FIG. 1 thus forms a refractor whose refractive behavior, represented by the offset A , can be changed by the applied control voltage U 1 . This change is practically inert, because the geometrical dimensions of a piezopolymeric film can be changed by the applied control voltage at high speed up to <20 kHz.

Hier wird also erreicht
Δ ϕ = f (U 1).
Fig. 2 shows a prism 5 , which is formed from a piezopolymeric body by applied conductive surfaces 2 , 3 . The adjustable control voltage U 1 is again applied to these boundary surfaces 2 , 3 . The geometric shape of the prism 5 and thus the refraction angle ϕ caused by the prism 5 can be changed by the control voltage U 1 . So here is achieved
Δ ϕ = f (U 1 ).

Fig. 3 shows the application of the invention for a collector lens 6. This again consists of a piezopolymeric film, on the two surfaces of which the conductive films 2 , 3 are applied. The control voltage U 1 is again applied to the conductive foils 2 , 3 . The thickness and thus the focal length of the converging lens 6 can be changed by the voltage U 1 .

Fig. 4 shows a diverging lens 7 , which also consists of egg ner piezopolymer film with applied conductive coatings 2 , 3 , to which the control voltage U 1 is angled. Otherwise, the arrangement according to FIG. 4 works accordingly in FIG. 3.

FIG. 5 shows the contacting of the two contact areas 2 , 3 on a lens according to FIG. 3, the contact areas being formed by metallic vapor deposition. The contact surfaces do not extend to the edge of the lens 6 , since they must be galvanically separated from one another for actuation with U 1 . On each of the two contact surfaces 2 , 3 there is a ring 8 , 9 made of conductive rubber, which is in conductive connection with the contact surfaces 2 , 3 . Such a conductive rubber can be contacted with appropriate connecting wires by pressing the connecting wires onto the rubber or inserting them into the rubber. The rings 8 , 9 made of conductive rubber can simultaneously serve to hold the lens 6 in a holder or in a lens or also for sealing.
