The invention relates to a slewing ring mount for automatic fire weapons on armored vehicles, the rotatable Platform outside the armored room has two shield cheeks, between which one of them Protective housing surrounded weapon on trunnion for Elevation is pivotable.
In a known design of this type, the protective housing surrounding the weapon is a cylinder ring designed, in the middle of which the weapon is held by means of long supports and also by means of trunnions ίο is mounted on cradle beams, which are provided in the side shield cheeks. Such a protective housing ring must have a large diameter corresponding to the length of the weapon, in which not exploitable cavities arise. The associated side shield cheeks must be correspondingly large are held and thus offer an unfavorably large target. The ring gap between the big one Protective housing ring and the side shield cheeks require a seal against NBC warfare agents correspondingly large sealing rings, the effectiveness of which is thus made more difficult.
The invention aims to avoid all of these shortcomings and disadvantages. This is achieved by that an armored housing that tightly encloses the weapon with its cradle and on all sides has hollow trunnions and by means of this is stored in shields, which the trunnion openings in compliance cover a cavity, which the ammunition belt feed from the lying under the platform Armored vehicle space through the hollow trunnion. In the invention, only that of the space occupied by the weapon and cradle enclosed by an armored housing; such an armored case is provided with hollow trunnions, which only need to be large enough to hold the Let through the ammunition belt feed. The annular gaps to be sealed off by sealing rings much smaller and can easily be safely sealed. This seal is also opposite the penetration of the carbon oxide gases released during firing into the armored vehicle compartment. The ammunition belt feed can therefore from the armored vehicle compartment through an opening in the Platform are made so that the ammunition supply is always overlooked. The ones on the platform Side shields located only need to be of a size that they fit the trunnion openings cover. The trunnion mounting as such is very stable due to its size, so that the invention combined a large number of advantages.

Es zeigtAn embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. It shows
Fig. 1 einen Längsaufriß senkrecht zum Waffenrohr, Fig. 1 is a longitudinal elevation perpendicular to the gun barrel,
F i g. 2 eine dazu senkrechte Ansicht, teilweise im Schnitt.F i g. 2 a view perpendicular thereto, partly in section.
On a small turntable 1 sits a rotatable platform 2 on which a fork-shaped bearing bracket 3 is constructed from armor material. The vertically pivotable part 4, the so-called upper carriage, is rotatably mounted between its cheeks. In this upper mount 4, the weapon 5 is mounted so that its axis of the soul coincides with the axis of rotation AB of the vertical directional movement. This arrangement of the weapon in relation to the storage console enables ammunition belts to be supplied from the inside of the vehicle via corresponding guide elements 6 through the rotatable platform 2 and through the hollow trunnion bearing 7 to the weapon 5, which is enclosed in the armored housing 22 forming the upper carriage and stored in the cradle 8 . A seal 9, preferably in the form of a Simmerring, for perfect sealing is located at the parting line between the non-vertically pivotable part 3 and the vertically adjustable part 22 together with the cradle 8 and weapon 5.
The shooter inside the car adjusts according to the height by means of handwheel 10 via gear 11. This device lies within the tank enclosure, as well as all others to operate the weapon necessary transmission elements, rods, trains, etc. The alignment to the side is done in the usual way Way by means of a lateral directional gear 12, which is attached to the fixed toothing 13 of the turntable 1 is working.

To the support column 14, which hangs under the rotatable platform 2 and which receives the gears, the shooter seat 15 with backrest 16 and footrest 17 are grouped. The lower part of this support column forks into a portal in which the ammunition box 18 is mounted such that it can be pulled out on a runway. The target optics 19 sits so that their view 20 under the weapon, the viewing tube (eyepiece) 21 in front of the Support column.
