With the present invention, a system is presented, with which anamorphic imaging with variable magnifications can be realized in at least two arbitrary directions. It comprises at least four independently adjustable in their focal length membrane cylindrical lenses, with which the variation of the focal length of the entire system without displacement or rotation of the individual components can be realized.
Description
The present invention relates to an anamorphic system with variable magnifications in at least two arbitrary directions and its use.
Anamorphic systems produce different image scales in horizontal and vertical image direction. The ratio of the magnifications is called the anamorphic factor. The systems are used in the field of recording and projection of widescreen images / films (cinemascope) as well as in beamforming.
Anamorphic systems are used as beam-shaping elements for shaping the elliptical beam profile of a diode laser into a symmetrical beam shape and for generating light lines or surfaces from symmetrical laser radiation. For this purpose, cylindrical optics of fixed focal length are introduced into the laser beam path. Due to the different magnification in the main sections, the ellipticity of the beam can be adjusted. With the system presented here, this functionality can be expanded and switched over in accordance with the requirements of the laser beam between circular and elliptical beam cross-section or between line-shaped or planar illumination.

In a classic anamorphic system of cylindrical lenses rigid lenses are used, which are permanently installed in the system. In order to achieve a variation of the anamorphic factor, the change of the magnification usually takes place only in one direction. The realization of a system with independent in at least two directions variable magnifications by moving the modules, as is common in classical zoom lenses, is not possible or only to a very limited extent, since a nesting of the modules must be prevented.
The object of the present invention is therefore to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art and to provide an anamorphic system with variable magnifications in at least two arbitrary directions, with the one hand for the recording or reproduction of scenes with high aspect ratio, standard formats for film, Sensor and display can be used and on the other hand in the beam forming asymmetric laser beams symmetrically deformed or adapted to the machining process can be set asymmetrically targeted.
According to the invention, the solution of this problem succeeds with the features of the first claim. While the subclaims specify seven and ten preferred uses of the system according to the invention, advantageous features of the system according to the invention and its use are characterized in the subclaims.
Es zeigt:The invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to drawings. It shows:
For the system according to the invention, membrane cylindrical lenses with variable focal length are used. As a result, a variation of the magnification is possible by adjusting the focal lengths without moving or twisting the elements. The system includes at least four independently tunable cylindrical lenses to separately adjust the magnification for imaging in at least two arbitrary directions while keeping the image position constant. Due to the use of the tunable cylindrical lenses, no variation of the focal length of the entire system requires any shifting of the individual components, which usually requires sophisticated mechanics. In addition, the overall length of the system remains constant.
The focal lengths of the cylindrical lenses, which are designed as membrane lenses, are variably adjustable by changing the membrane curvature. Compared to classic varifocal lenses, this offers the advantage that no displacement of the components is necessary and telescoping of the components can be excluded. This allows independent variation of the image scales . For anamorphic image with variable magnification in two directions at least four tunable cylindrical lenses are necessary. In the following, such a system will be described. The invention presented here likewise comprises systems which lead to an improvement in imaging performance through the use of additional imaging elements (lenses).

A realization of the cylindrical lenses with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) as membrane material, as usual in conventional membrane lenses, is also possible in principle. However, due to the lower strength of PDMS, the membrane has to be made thicker, which leads to bending effects and thus deviations in shape from the cylindrical surface in the edge area of the membrane. The creep behavior of PDSM also reduces the dynamics of the optical system.
In
Another aspect of the invention is a non-perpendicular arrangement of the cylindrical lenses. This makes it possible to change the magnification in at least two directions. In addition, an arrangement of more than two cylindrical lenses per assembly allows the change in magnification in more than two directions. This can in particular for beam shaping z. B. be used by laser beams in any number of directions.
Further realization possibilities, such as a structure for infinite finite mapping or afocal systems (eg of the Galilei or Kepler type) are likewise possible by means of a corresponding arrangement or control of the assemblies.
