技术领域
本发明一般涉及一种标记扫描仪，并且更具体地，涉及一种具有基于三维深度传感器的自动聚焦系统的标记扫描仪。
背景技术
各种标记（诸如条形码）已经使用在数十年内被用于管理库存、存储有用的消费者信息、以及自动化数据输入以减少人工数据输入固有的时间和错误。一般来说，标记是以图形格式编码的信息的机器可读表示。传统的条形码是一系列平行的条和宽度变化的间距，诸如线性条形码或1D条形码。此外，随着技术的进步和在标记中所需的编码信息量的增长，矩阵码标记已经日益受到欢迎。示例包括2D条形码、QR码、Aztec码、数据矩阵、以及光学字符识别（OCR）等。

发明内容
因此，在一个方面中，本发明包括一种标记读取终端，包括：三维深度传感器，配置为捕获视场的深度图像并根据该深度图像创建深度图，该深度图具有一个或多个表面距离；二维图像传感器，配置为接收入射光并从其捕获图像；自动聚焦透镜组，接近于二维图像传感器放置，使得该入射光在到达二维图像传感器前穿过该自动聚焦透镜；以及处理器，以通信方式耦合至二维图像传感器、三维深度传感器和自动聚焦透镜组。

具体实施方式
在图1-5中示出的实施例中，标记读取终端1具有计算设备40、三维深度传感器10（“3D深度传感器”或“深度传感器”）、二维图像传感器20（“2D图像传感器”或“图像传感器”）、自动聚焦透镜组30以及照明源50。
在图1A和1B中示出的实施例中，标记读取终端1是移动设备，诸如手持扫描仪2、便携式数据终端、移动电话3、平板电脑、便携式计算机等，或者可为诸如沿着装配线固定到单个位置的静止终端。手持扫描仪2可包括具有手柄2a和触发器2b的手持部分，以及组件接收头2c。触发器2b可用于发起信号以激活本文描述的各种组件和过程。便携式数据终端，虽然未示出，但公知用于典型地描述用于通过无线传输输入或检索数据的电子设备，并还可用作标记读取器以从远程位置访问数据库。

本领域普通技术人员将理解的是，结构光3D扫描仪是用于使用投射的光图案、摄像机系统以及三角计算来测量物体的三维形状的3D扫描设备。飞行时间摄像机（ToF摄像机）是基于已知光速、针对图像每个点测量在摄像机和该目标之间的光信号的飞行时间来求解距离的范围成像摄像机系统。飞行时间摄像机是无扫描光探测和测距（“LIDAR”）系统的一个分类，其中利用每个激光或光脉冲捕获整个场景，与诸如在扫描LIDAR系统中利用激光束逐点的方式相反。立体视觉系统的具有已知的物理关系（即摄像机可看到的共同视场，以及物理空间内它们的焦点相距多远）的两个摄像机通过软件相关联。通过找到共同像素值的映射并计算驻留在像素空间内的这些公共区域相距多远，可创建粗略深度图。这与人脑使用来自眼睛的立体信息获得深度提示信息（诸如场景中任意给定对象距离观察者有多远）的方式非常类似。

在另一实施例中，深度图可为受限平面，其在视场的一般或期望深度内或在要扫描的对象与标记读取终端1的距离内。因此，仅在视场的此期望深度或距离内的平面（例如，11a，11b）将被包括在深度图中，从而减少了深度图的复杂度。
在图2中示出的实施例中，2D图像传感器20配置为接收入射光并从其捕获图像。2D图像传感器20可为任意多像素图像传感器，诸如电荷耦合设备（CCD）、互补金属氧化物半导体（CMOS）、有源像素传感器（APS）等。本领域普通技术人员将理解，捕获二维数字图像的其它类型的图像传感器处于本公开的范围内。

在一个实施例中，自动聚焦透镜组30从距标记读取终端1最远的最佳焦距开始渐进地调整至每一个预测的最佳焦距。因此，自动聚焦透镜组30将把焦距调整至距标记读取终端1最远的平面，并渐进把焦距调整至距标记读取终端1第二最远、第三最远、第四最远等的平面直到自动聚焦透镜组30已经聚焦于每一个预测的最佳焦距处。
在一个实施例中，当自动聚焦透镜组30聚焦于每个预测的最佳焦距处时处理器42指令2D图像传感器20捕获一幅图像。捕获的图像存储在存储器41中并读出至处理器42，处理器42分析每个捕获的图像并确定是否存在可解码标记。如果处理器42确定可解码标记存在于捕获的图像中，处理器42信号通知自动聚焦透镜组30以停止渐进调整至下一预测的最佳焦距，因此在自动聚焦透镜组30全面地将焦距调整至每一个预测的最佳焦距之前终止该自动聚焦过程。如果处理器42确定捕获的图像并不包含可解码标记，处理器42信号通知自动聚焦透镜组30以继续渐进地调整焦距至下一预测的最佳焦距。
通过把处理器42限制为分析在相对少量的最佳焦距处采集的捕获图像，处理器42可比传统的自动聚焦例程更迅速地检测可解码标记，因为处理器42由于自动聚焦透镜组30不智能地跨透镜组30的整个聚焦范围调整焦距而无需分析相邻像素间的强度差。此外，由于处理器42分析自动聚焦透镜组30处于每个预测的最佳焦距时的每个捕获的图像，如果在聚焦例程中及早发现可解码标记，则自动聚焦过程可被迅速终止。这导致功耗降低、聚焦时间减少、并减少了自动聚焦透镜组30自身的磨损。
在一个实施例中，当处理器42确定捕获的图像包含可解码标记时，处理器42可信号通知自动聚焦透镜组30以继续调整聚焦至深度图中的每个平面，直到所有的平面都已经具有捕获的图像。当深度图中最后的平面已经具有由2D传感器20捕获的对应图像时，处理器42可指令自动聚焦透镜组30终止各个平面间的聚焦调整。因此，在这一实施例中，处理器42可分析深度图内的每个平面是否存在一个或多个可解码标记，但将仅具有被限制到距深度传感器10的最近平面和最远平面之间的距离的聚焦范围。
标记读取终端1优于传统自动聚焦系统的优点之一在于，传统自动聚焦系统的自动聚焦透镜与自动聚焦透镜组30相比相对较慢地移动。传统自动聚焦透镜移动得比较慢是由于它跨其工作范围扫掠以允许摄像机系统确定是否它焦点对准。利用标记读取终端1，已经知道视场内每个平面的最佳焦距，因此自动聚焦透镜组30可更快地调整焦点至这些位置并沿路径同时进行解码。
在另一实施例中，处理器42可指令2D图像传感器20随着自动聚焦透镜组30把焦点从一个预测的最佳焦距调整至下一预测的最佳焦距而连续捕获图像。处理器42然后可应用容许有限水平的图像模糊的解码算法以搜索可解码标记。如果处理器42确定可解码标记存在于在自动聚焦透镜组30在预测的最佳焦距之间进行调整时捕获的图像中，则处理器42可信号通知自动聚焦透镜组30以停止渐进调整至下一预测的最佳焦距，因此在自动聚焦透镜组30全面地把焦距调整至每一个预测的最佳焦距之前终止自动聚焦过程。
在图5中所示的一个实施例中，在框113和114处，处理器42配置为基于在捕获的深度图像中检测到的曝光水平为每个预测的最佳焦距预测最佳曝光水平。例如，处理器42可控制由照明源50产生的光的强度和持续时间。
在一个实施例中，线性或对数曝光函数计算由深度传感器10确定的视场内任意平面距离处的传感器曝光持续时间。此函数进行操作以使得更远离深度传感器10的平面（诸如图2中的平面11b）将比距离深度传感器10较近的平面具有更短的曝光时间。因此，更远离深度传感器10的平面将具有用于解码的较低的可用分辨率并因此将更易受运动模糊的影响。处理器42可减少曝光并提高照明源50的照明强度和持续时间以减少这些更远距离的平面的运动模糊。类似地，距深度传感器10较近的平面将具有用于解码的更多可用分辨率并将受益于较少照明以减少镜面反射，并因此常常需要更长的曝光以补偿较低强度的环境照明。处理器42可提高曝光并降低照明源50的照明强度和持续时间以减少这些较近平面的运动模糊。
线性曝光函数的示例性实施例将是：以秒为单位的曝光时间=（6/以英寸为单位的距离）*（1/2000），其将在6英寸处适用于500微秒的曝光。本领域普通技术人员将理解，此示例性实施例可被应用至其它距离和曝光时间。
处理器42指令2D图像传感器20在预测的最佳焦距处使用针对该焦距的预测的最佳曝光水平捕获图像。因此，捕获的图像将使用最佳预测曝光水平获取以给出高分辨率的捕获图像。
图3-5公开了用于读取标记的方法的示例性实施例。在图3中所示的实施例中，在框100，提供了标记读取终端1。在框101，利用3D深度传感器10捕获视场的第一深度图像。在框102，确定从标记读取终端1至具有大于预定阈值的面积的深度图像中的主表面（例如，平面11a，11b）的距离以创建第一深度图像的深度图。在框103，计算从自动聚焦透镜组至每个主表面的最佳焦距。在框104，当自动聚焦透镜组30聚焦在最佳焦距之一处时利用2D图像传感器20捕获第一图像。在框105，通过处理器42分析捕获的第一图像以确定是否存在可解码标记。如果存在可解码标记，则解码该标记。
在图4中示出的实施例中，如果不存在可解码标记，自动聚焦透镜组顺序地聚焦在每一个计算的最佳焦距处（框106），并且利用2D图像传感器20在每个最佳焦距处捕获图像（框107）。在框108，分析每个额外的捕获图像是否存在可解码标记。在框109，当处理器42在捕获的图像中检测到可解码标记时由处理器42终止自动聚焦透镜组30的顺序聚焦。
如果在基于确定自第一深度图像的预测的最佳焦距的任何捕获的图像中都不存在可解码标记，则捕获视场的第二深度图像，并且上文描述的过程再次重复（框110）。
在图5中示出的实施例中，具有可解码标记的主表面的面积与编码在可解码标记中的期望面积值进行比较（框111）。如果主表面的真实面积等于期望面积值，则标记读取终端1可以以声音、触觉或视觉提示的形式提供肯定反馈。如果主表面的真实面积小于或大于期望面积值，标记读取终端1可以以与肯定反馈不同的声音、触觉或视觉提示的形式提供否定反馈。通过比较主表面的真实面积与期望面积值，可以当这些值不对应的时候警告操作者。这种警告可作为防盗过程帮助识别贴错标签的物品以及其它应用。
在图5中示出的实施例中，在框112，具有可解码标记的物品的近似尺寸可根据深度图中的主表面的面积进行确定。邮政承运人（诸如UPS、FEDEX、USPS等）可在远程拾取以及其它应用期间容易和快速地确定包裹的近似尺寸。
相比仅具有2D图像传感器或者传统测距仪和2D传感器的更多传统标记读取终端，示例性实施例中的标记读取终端1利用深度信息增强了特征和性能。由3D深度传感器提供的该深度信息允许透镜组更快和更能量高效地自动聚焦。深度图像通过在最可能包含可解码标记的图像的区域上聚焦评估来提高适时性，该区域是产品视场的普通深度内的那些区域，包含平坦表面的区域，或从剩余环境突出的区域。
3D深度传感器允许利用3D深度图像进行物品验证，以防止例如位于商店的操作员扫描物品的标签而没有真正注意到是否扫描的信息匹配正被购买的物品。可在商店内设置将物品的尺寸与条形码信息关联的数据库。包括在标记读取终端内的3D深度传感器（诸如条形码扫描仪）可帮助自动验证购买的物品或者如果该物品的一般尺寸并不匹配可解码标记指示的尺寸则信号通知操作员他们应当详细检查购买的物品。
3D图像传感器的使用允许确定包裹尺寸。通过将3D深度传感器集成到扫描引擎和PDT中可实现承运人（例如UPS、FEDEX、USPS等）在远程拾取期间快速和便携地确定包裹尺寸。
3D图像传感器的使用还附加地允许到可解码标记的距离被用作另一数据点用于确定曝光设置。3D深度图可在触发扣动之前运行以帮助确定初始曝光。
本领域普通技术人员将会理解，具有3D距离传感器的设备可被集成到标准2D图像传感器中，其中标记读取器在对可解码标记进行成像和捕获3D深度图像之间交替使用2D传感器。在另一实施例中，诸如在图2中示出的实施例中，标记读取器包括专用于条形码扫描的2D图像传感器以及专用于确定标记读取器和视场内对象之间距离的单独3D深度传感器。

Claims (10)

1.一种标记读取终端，包括：
三维深度传感器，配置为捕获视场的深度图像并根据所述深度图像创建深度图，所述深度图具有一个或多个表面距离；
二维图像传感器，配置为接收入射光并从其捕获图像；
自动聚焦透镜组，接近于所述二维图像传感器放置，使得所述入射光在到达二维图像传感器之前穿过自动聚焦透镜；以及
处理器，以通信方式耦合至所述二维图像传感器、所述三维深度传感器以及所述自动聚焦透镜组。
2.权利要求1的所述标记读取终端，其中每个表面距离对应于标记读取终端和具有大于预定阈值的面积的视场内存在的每个平面之间的距离。
3.权利要求2的所述标记读取终端，其中所述处理器配置为预测针对每个表面距离的最佳焦距。
4.权利要求3的所述标记读取终端，其中，基于预测的最佳焦距，自动聚焦透镜组渐进地调整至每个预测的最佳焦距。
5.权利要求4的所述标记读取终端，其中自动聚焦透镜组渐进地调整至每个预测的最佳焦距从与标记读取终端最接近的最佳焦距开始。
6.权利要求4的所述标记读取终端，其中当自动聚焦透镜组聚焦于每个预测的最佳焦距时，二维图像传感器捕获图像。
7.权利要求6的所述标记读取终端，其中，所述处理器分析每个捕获的图像并确定是否存在可解码标记。
8.权利要求7的所述标记读取终端，其中，当可解码标记存在于捕获的图像中时，所述处理器信号通知自动聚焦透镜组以停止渐进地调整至下一预测的最佳焦距。
9.权利要求6的所述标记读取终端，其中所述处理器配置为预测针对每个预测的最佳焦距的最佳曝光水平。
10.权利要求9的所述标记读取终端，其中所述二维图像传感器使用预测的最佳曝光水平在预测的最佳焦距处捕获所述图像。
