Abstract

背景技术

发明内容

具体实施方式
将参照图1-7中所示的实施例描述基于加速度的运动容差和预测编码方法10。如将在此之后更完整描述的,基于加速度的运动容差和预测编码方法10允许用户更快速且高效地操作扫描器来扫描代码。
以下公开内容提供用于预测可扫描对象的图像内的感兴趣区域的位置的系统和方法。该基于加速度的运动容差和预测编码方法和系统对于定位和扫描条形码和本领域普通技术人员所已知的其它可解码标记而言尤其有用,但是该方法和系统对于扫描其它对象同样有用。例如,本发明可以应用于对象位置、面部识别和图像处理的其它应用。
在示例性实施例中,扫描器12具有支持电子组件的外壳14,所述电子组件包括处理器16、存储器组件18、电源20、图像传感器22、光源24和运动传感器26。这些电子组件一般连接到彼此,如图1中所示。在实施例中,存储器组件18、电源20、图像传感器22、光源24和运动传感器26通信耦合到控制每一个组件的处理器16。

为了预测条形码的位置,方法10在扫描器外壳的当前运动的方向上改变所捕获图像中的解码中央坐标(或感兴趣区域),并且感兴趣区域所改变的程度与速度成比例。因而,如果用户快速向右移动扫描器12,则方法10包括引导解码器以首先搜索捕获图像的右边缘。如果用户缓慢向右移动扫描器12,则解码首先搜索捕获图像的右半部。
然后,当检测到运动时,处理器16调整照明(闪光LED)、增益和曝光设定。在步骤140和160二者之后,处理器16继续扫描器12的感测运动。这允许用户顺序地扫描多个可扫描对象。例如,用户可以朝向第一对象移动扫描器12、扫描第一对象上的第一代码,然后朝向第二对象移动扫描器12,并且扫描第二对象上的第二代码。该方法的步骤在下文更详细地描述。

扫描器12可以包括连接到处理器16并且固定到扫描器外壳14的专用运动传感器26。运动传感器26配置成检测扫描器外壳14在运动传感器平面内的运动。运动传感器平面基本上平行于成像平面P,并且基本上垂直于观察方向A。
运动感测的步骤产生由运动传感器26捕获并且输出给处理器16的运动数据。运动数据包括速度和运动方向数据,其中运动方向对应于速度。
如图4-7中所示,一旦速度和运动方向已知,则感兴趣区域30在由图像传感器22所捕获的图像32中标识。感兴趣区域30是其中处理器16预测可扫描代码将位于的区域,并且因而是其中处理器16应当开始运行解码算法的图像的区域。感兴趣区域30的位置响应于速度和运动方向数据而限定。
一旦感兴趣区域30被限定,则对捕获图像32(在图4-7中通过其外边界示出的图像)扫描或解码的过程在感兴趣区域30中开始。
图4-7示出了针对各种运动条件的图像上的感兴趣区域30的位置。仅出于说明性目的而在图4-7中将感兴趣区域30示出为圆形区域。在其它实施例中,感兴趣区域30可以是图像的四分之一、一半或任何其它预定部分。在另外的实施例中,感兴趣区域30可以是方形、三角形、多边形、椭圆形或另一几何形状。
在图4中示出的实施例中,当未检测到运动时,感兴趣区域30位于捕获图像32的中央中。当检测到运动时,感兴趣区域30位于从捕获图像的中央且朝向捕获图像32的边缘的偏移方向上。感兴趣区域的偏移方向基本上平行于或基本上类似于扫描器12的运动方向。例如,如图5的实施例中所示,如果扫描器12向上且向右移动,则感兴趣区域30偏移到与向上且向右的观察区域的部分对应的图像部分。因而在图5的实施例中,感兴趣区域30远离图像的中央36并且朝向图像的右上角38改变,其中该偏移方向对应于扫描器外壳相对于可扫描对象的相对速度V1。
感兴趣区域30可以偏移到捕获图像32的广义四分之一。可替换地,当检测到运动时,处理器16可以将感兴趣区域30定位在从原点测量的偏移距离处,其中偏移距离与扫描器12的速度成比例。例如,相比于偏移距离针对作为第一速度的一半大的第二速度将是的情况,偏移距离针对第一速度将是两倍大。在超出阈值速度的情况下,偏移距离将不增加,其中阈值速度对应于使得偏移距离将感兴趣区域30定位在捕获图像32的边缘处的速度。
图6和7示出了感兴趣区域30的偏移,其中在图6中针对速度V2并且在图7中针对速度V3。速度V2,V3二者基本上向右,其中V3具有比V2更大的量值。因为V3对应于扫描器外壳相对于可扫描对象的更大速度,所以该方法将感兴趣区域30向右偏移得比其响应于速度V2所做的更远。图6示出了向右偏移的感兴趣区域30。图7示出了进一步向右偏移的感兴趣区域,使得其相邻于图像的右边缘40。
光源24通信连接到处理器16并且固定到外壳14。光源24配置成在观察方向A上且沿着观察方向A引导光。光源24可以选择性地在去激活状态与激活状态之间切换。在激活状态中,光源24提供光。在去激活状态中,光源24不提供光。在实施例中,光源24可以具有一个或多个中间状态,其中光源24提供一个或多个相应中间水平的光。光源24在由运动传感器26检测到运动时激活。在实施例中,光源24是发光二极管(LED)。在另一实施例中,光源24是本领域普通技术人员所已知的任何常见光生成设备。
在实施例中,扫描器12相对于可扫描对象的速度可以通过限定对应于图像传感器22与可扫描对象13之间的成像距离值、限定用于图像传感器22的曝光时间以及检测捕获图像32中的模糊来计算或估计。图像传感器22捕获可扫描对象的至少一个图像32。处理器16运行测量可扫描对象在捕获图像32中的模糊区域的图像处理算法。用于给定成像距离和给定曝光时间的增加的模糊区域对应于扫描器12相对于可扫描对象的增加的速度。
图像传感器22的增益和曝光时间基于所检测的速度而设定在适当水平处。如果速度的量值是大的,则相对于零速度值而言,增益增加并且曝光时间减小。
为了增加成功解码的可能性,方法10可选地包括调整应用于扫描系统的增益、曝光和光照的水平的步骤。例如,如果检测到高程度的运动,则可以将高程度的光照、高程度的增益和低的曝光时间应用于系统。在实施例中,这些设定与所检测的运动量线性成比例应用。在另一实施例中,这些设定在任一方向上加权,其中系统可以配置为比线性函数将规定的更具(或更不具)侵略性(aggressive)。该指数方案可能对于在甚至最轻微的运动指示上快速地提高运动容差而言是有用的。
运动可以以各种方式通过运动传感器26检测。在实施例中,运动传感器26是固定到扫描器外壳的加速度计。在智能电话和PDT上运行的诸如SwiftMobile之类的条形码解码软件采用内置式加速度计,其可以由解码器或软件开发套件(SDK)使用。在手持式扫描器中,存在多个选项,诸如将加速度计或另一运动传感器添加到设备。

Claims (15)
1.一种预测可扫描对象的图像内的感兴趣区域的位置的方法,该方法包括以下步骤:
提供具有处理器和图像传感器的扫描器;
在观察方向上朝向可扫描对象进行感测,其中成像平面垂直于观察方向;
利用图像传感器捕获可扫描对象的图像;
感测扫描器在运动传感器平面内相对于可扫描对象的运动,运动传感器平面平行于成像平面;
输出速度和对应于速度的运动方向;
响应于速度和运动方向而定位所述捕获图像中的感兴趣区域;以及
以感兴趣区域开始扫描捕获图像。
2.权利要求1的方法,其中定位感兴趣区域的步骤还包括:
当未检测到运动时,在捕获图像的中央中定位感兴趣区域;以及
当检测到运动时,在从捕获图像的中央且朝向捕获图像的边缘的偏移方向上定位感兴趣区域,其中偏移方向基本上平行于运动方向。
3.权利要求2的方法,其中定位感兴趣区域的步骤还包括:
当检测到运动时,将感兴趣区域定位在从图像中央所测量的偏移距离处,偏移距离与速度成比例。
4.权利要求1的方法,还包括以下步骤:
提供光源;
将光源配置成在观察方向上引导光;
将光源配置成选择性地处于去激活状态和激活状态中的一个中;以及
在检测到运动时激活光源。
5.权利要求2的方法,还包括以下步骤:
提供光源;
将光源配置成在观察方向上引导光;
将光源配置成选择性地处于去激活状态和激活状态中的一个中;以及
在检测到运动时激活光源。
6.权利要求3的方法,还包括以下步骤:
提供光源;
将光源配置成在观察方向上引导光;
将光源配置成选择性地处于去激活状态和激活状态中的一个中;以及
在检测到运动时激活光源。
7.权利要求1的方法,还包括以下步骤:
限定对应于图像传感器与可扫描对象之间的距离的成像距离;
限定用于图像传感器的曝光时间;以及
基于曝光时间和成像距离来估计速度。
8.权利要求2的方法,还包括以下步骤:
限定对应于图像传感器与可扫描对象之间的距离的成像距离;
限定用于图像传感器的曝光时间;以及
基于曝光时间和成像距离来估计速度。
9.权利要求3的方法,还包括以下步骤:
限定对应于图像传感器与可扫描对象之间的距离的成像距离;
限定用于图像传感器的曝光时间;以及
基于曝光时间和成像距离来估计速度。
10.权利要求1的方法,还包括以下步骤:
设定用于图像传感器的增益和曝光时间;以及
当检测到运动时,要么增加增益要么减少曝光时间。
11.权利要求2的方法,还包括以下步骤:
设定用于图像传感器的增益和曝光时间;以及
当检测到运动时,要么增加增益要么减少曝光时间。
12.权利要求3的方法,还包括以下步骤:
设定用于图像传感器的增益和曝光时间;以及
当检测到运动时,要么增加增益要么减少曝光时间。
13.权利要求1的方法,其中感测运动的步骤还包括:
捕获可扫描对象的至少两个图像,至少两个图像通过时间间隔分离;以及
通过测量可扫描对象在至少两个图像之间所行进的距离来确定运动方向和速度。
14.权利要求2的方法,其中感测运动的步骤还包括:
捕获可扫描对象的至少两个图像,至少两个图像通过时间间隔分离;以及
通过测量可扫描对象在至少两个图像之间所行进的距离来确定运动方向和速度。
15.权利要求3的方法,其中感测运动的步骤还包括:
捕获可扫描对象的至少两个图像,至少两个图像通过时间间隔分离;以及
通过测量可扫描对象在至少两个图像之间所行进的距离来确定运动方向和速度。
