Abstract

A flow deviation preventing immersed nozzle for preventing the deviation of discharged flow due to the deviation of flow in a bore portion in an immersed nozzle used for continuous casting of steel, characterized in that the immersed nozzle with two opposed discharge ports has one or more bore constricted regions in a bore region located above the discharge ports, the bore constricted region nearest the discharge ports being a bore oval constricted region with its bore being oval in horizontal section, the longitudinal direction of the oval shape being substantially parallel with the direction of the discharge ports. The bore oval constricted region is a bore constricted region that is the second nearest to the discharge ports, the lower end surface of the bore oval constricted region nearest the discharge ports being located 0.3H - 2H based on the discharge port level H above the upper ends of the discharge ports, the spacing between it and the bore oval constricted region located thereabove being 0.3D -2D based on the bore diameter D, the respective lengths of the bore constricted regions being 0.5D - 5D.
